Today, at the daily Tehillim shiur in the yeshiva's main hall, the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a expounded on the verse: "For Hashem knows the way of the righteous, but the way of the wicked will perish." As Rashi says, "yodeia" is an expression of "affection": "For Hashem knows the way of the righteous" means 'Hashem loves the way of the righteous.' But often "the way of the wicked" means 'wicked people swirl around the tzaddik and twist things around him, and then it will perish.' The Rebbe mentioned a story about his father, the Beirach Moshe zy"a, the Kedushas Tzion's son: there was a Jew whose will had been twisted after eighty years, and the Rebbe zt"l said it is worth nothing, "this is the way of the wicked will perish."
Even if one was an upright Jew, it can often happen that one doesn't let this one in, doesn't let that one in, and words are twisted; then it is "the way of the wicked will perish." "Often it can be that even if 'the halacha follows him in every place,' it is not 'in every time,' as it can be that in later years they twisted things."
"And the way of the wicked — when wicked people swirl around the tzaddik — that will perish."
