Tuesday, Parshas Eikev, "B'tzeil HaKodesh" with the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a

The Rebbe shlit"a davened Shacharis in the Great Beis Medrash. Before davening, the Rebbe put on tefillin for the bar mitzvah bochur, the bochur Avrohom Yonah Schwartz (of Williamsburg).
After davening, a lechayim was held with the bar mitzvah bochur in the Rebbe's private room.

During the morning hours, the Rebbe went on his weekly visit to the mehudar slaughterhouse, accompanied by his brother-in-law, HaGaon Rosh Yeshiva of Vizhnitz in Eretz Yisroel shlit"a, and family members.

In the afternoon, around 6:30, the Rebbe davened Mincha in his holy home.

In the evening, the Rebbe officiated at kiddushin at the chuppahs of the following mechutanim:
R' Yuda Hersh Schwartz – R' Chaim Meir Weiss, at Kinor David hall.
R' Yisroel Landau – R' Yuda Leib Laub, at Beis Rachel Paradise hall.

After the chuppahs, around 8:00, the Rebbe went on a return visit to the Skulen Rebbe shlit"a at the home of the distinguished philanthropist R' Yuda Weiss, where a gathering was held for the benefit of the Chesed LeAvraham institution, with prominent philanthropists from among our chassidim. A pleasant conversation ensued, with stories of tzaddikim. The Skulen Rebbe honored the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a with a lechayim, and the Rebbe bestowed his holy blessings and gave extra good wishes to the host, R' Yuda, and his family.

Around 8:45 the Rebbe arrived at the halls of Keren Vyoel Moshe, where the Rebbe hosted Sheva Brachos for the family, to which the members of the Chevra Kadisha of our holy kehilla from across Greater New York were invited. The Rebbe shlit"a washed for the seudah, and HaRav R' Moshe Falkowitz, a member of the committee of the central Chevra Kadisha, spoke and presented the privilege the Chevra Kadisha had of being invited guests at the private Sheva Brachos together with the Rebbe. After the fish course, the Rebbe offered a lechayim to the entire assembly.

During the seudah, several members of the Chevra Kadisha stood and presented various questions regarding matters and customs of the Chevra Kadisha that arise regularly, to which the Rebbe shlit"a responded and spoke at length with sound reasoning and insight. Among others who spoke were HaRav R' Chaim Elazar Spitzer, HaRav R' Yitzchak Baruch Braun, HaRav R' Moshe Meir Gottlieb, HaRav R' Akiva Hirsch, HaRav R' Yosef Weiss, and the Rebbe's grandson, Rabbi Menachem Shlomo Ashkenazi shlit"a.

The Rebbe shlit"a then delivered holy words and gave chizuk and guidance to the Chevra Kadisha, tying together the theme of kiddushin and the joy of marriage with the Chevra Kadisha, and concluded with abundant blessings to all the Chevra Kadisha members, with the blessing "He will swallow up death forever," with the arrival of the true Redeemer, speedily.

Afterwards, everyone rose to dance for an extended time. Before Birkas Hamazon, HaRav R' Hershel Friedman performed as badchan.

For Birkas Hamazon, the Rebbe honored HaRav R' Shlomo Wertzberger, shamash of our holy kehilla and one of the heads of the Chevra Kadisha, with the leading of the bentching. The first blessings: HaGaon Rabbi Yaakov Eliyahu Unsdorfer shlit"a, Av Beis Din of Reishis Chochmah in Montreal. The final blessing: HaRav R' Yosef Weiss, one of the heads of the Chevra Kadisha. The event concluded around 10:55.

The Rebbe davened Maariv around 11:30 in his holy home.
