Sunday, Parshas Korach — 'B'tzeil HaKodesh' with the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a

The Rebbe shlit"a davened Shacharis in the Heichal HaMesivta, Kedushas Yoel branch. Before davening, the Rebbe put tefillin on the bar mitzvah bochurim.

Afterward, the Rebbe wound the straps for the bar mitzvah bochur, son of HaGaon R' Yoel shlit"a.

After davening, the Rebbe led the daily Tehillim shiur on chapter 12, verse 2. Afterward, a lechayim was held with the bar mitzvah bochurim in the Rebbe's private room.


In the afternoon, a group of bochurim, talmidim of Yeshivas Tiferes Yehuda Aryeh of Carteret, New Jersey, entered the Rebbe's room together with their maggid shiur HaGaon R' Chaim Muteshen shlit"a. The Rebbe questioned them about the yeshiva's seder and their learning, then spoke words of guidance and imparted from his holy blessing.

Afterward, the Rebbe went up to the Heichal HaYeshiva, Divrei Yoel branch, where the Rebbe learned with a chavrusa from among the yeshiva's talmidim in his private room.

At around 7:50, the Rebbe went over to the yeshiva building, Eitz Chaim branch, where a siyum ceremony for the writing of a Sefer Torah took place. The Sefer Torah is being written by HaGaon R' Levi Yitzchak Borzesky shlit"a, director of the Yeshiva V'Yoel Moshe branch, together with his son, the young man Yosef Tzvi Borzesky, and will be brought in tomorrow, Monday, to the beis medrash 'Ohel Basya' in the Highland Mills neighborhood. The Rebbe danced in place for several minutes, then inspiring and devoted melodies were sung, and HaGaon R' Meir Zwibel shlit"a, a rebbi in the yeshiva, spoke. Afterward, the Rebbe filled in the letters, and inspiring melodies were sung.

The Rebbe drank a lechayim and warmly blessed the chosson haTorah, the bochur Yosef Tzvi, and his father HaGaon R' Levi Yitzchak shlit"a, the rebbeim of the yeshiva and all the bochurim, and spoke brief words of blessing in honor of the occasion. After the stirring address by the grandfather, R' Elimelech Shlomo Schwartz shlit"a, the Rebbe performed hagbah on the Sefer Torah and danced for an extended time with the open Sefer Torah. The grandfather, R' Elimelech Shlomo shlit"a, was honored with gelilah, the chosson haTorah, the bochur Yosef Tzvi, with chagiras haSefer Torah, and HaGaon R' Simcha Shalom Steinberger shlit"a, rav of beis medrash Divrei Chaim and a rebbi in the yeshiva, with the keser Torah. The Rebbe then broke into a festive, holy dance with the Sefer Torah and danced with fiery enthusiasm for an extended time. Afterward, he honored HaGaon R' Levi Yitzchak shlit"a and his son, the bochur Yosef Tzvi, the grandfather R' Elimelech shlit"a, and the rebbeim of the yeshiva to dance. The event concluded at around 8:40.

After the ceremony, the Rebbe went over to his holy residence on Ahel Court, where the Rebbe davened Mincha, and afterward there were entry times into the holy room until 11:45 at night.
