On Erev Shabbos afternoon, the Rebbe shlit"a placed the shtreimel on the chassanim.

On Friday night at around 9:00, the Rebbe shlit"a entered the beis medrash wrapped in his tallis and approached the amud for Mincha.

The davening concluded at 10:30. After davening, an appeal took place for the Sephardic Yeshiva Gedolah in the holy city of Beit She'an. The crowd went over to wish a "gut Shabbos," and the Rebbe shlit"a went into his private room.

A short time after davening, the Rebbe shlit"a entered the Friday night seudah in the Heichal HaShulchanos together with the students of the mesivta, and began, in his holy way, "Shalom Aleichem" with emotion and sweetness.

The Rebbe shlit"a said Torah on the Midrash, "Whoever wishes to know about the resurrection of the dead from the Torah, let him see: 'and behold, Miriam was leprous as snow,'" and explained, in the manner of a derush, the question of whether one may derive a kal vachomer on one's own.

During the tish, joyous melodies were sung in honor of the Shalom Zachor at the Rebbe's grandson, Rabbi Levi Yitzchak Taub, son-in-law of HaGaon Rabbi Rav of the beis medrash Yismach Moshe shlit"a, a chassan.

Stories and anecdotes: this week the Rebbe shlit"a related the history of the day of weeping and mourning, the 20th of Sivan, which was established as a fast day because of the evil decrees against Klal Yisroel and the earlier generations. The new chassanim went around collecting fruit, as the seventh day: the Rebbe's grandson, Rabbi Pinchas Mordechai Meisels, son of HaGaon Rabbi Rav of the beis medrash Yismach Moshe shlit"a, a chassan. The tish concluded at around 1:35.

On Shabbos Kodesh

On Shabbos Kodesh morning the Rebbe shlit"a entered at 9:30. Pesukei D'Zimra: R' Yoshe Mordechai Wertzberger. The Rebbe shlit"a then approached the amud for Shacharis.

Mincha: R' Yoel, son of R' Menachem Wertzberger; Hotzaah and Hachnasah: R' Moshe Avrohom Gross (Boro Park); Kohen: R' Yoel, son of R' Shmuel HaKohen Friedman; Levi: R' Shalom Yosef Levinger; Shlishi: R' Shlomo Zalman Weiss; Hagbah: the Rebbe shlit"a; Gelilah: R' Avrohom Meir Wertzberger (Montreal).

The Rebbe shlit"a honored people with the zemiros at Shalosh Seudos. Odeh: R' Noach Gafen; Shir HaMaalos: R' Moshe Goldstein.

During the Torah, the Rebbe shlit"a focused on the verse "Vayehi Binsoa HaAron" and explained that through the power of Yaakov Avinu, for whom the earth "jumped," the Jewish children merited that the place of the Mikdash was moved from its place and accompanied the Jews everywhere, and through this, upright Jews today merit the batei medrash that carry with them the holiness of Eretz Yisroel. However, only when one has the proper fear and awe of the Mikdash is it "this is the gate of heaven"; but if, chas v'shalom, one is disrespectful, how can one merit this blessing?

Yedid Nefesh: R' Moshe Chaim Wertzberger; Kel Mistater: R' Shalom Chananel Mendlowitz. The Rebbe shlit"a recited the blessing over the cup and said Sheva Brachos.

Maariv on Motzei Shabbos: R' Avrohom Shalom Landau. After Havdalah, people went over to wish a gutte voch. The tish concluded at 11:15.

After Havdalah, the Rebbe shlit"a went over to the home of R' Yisroel Yaakov Sofer, where the siyum of the writing of the letters for the Sefer Torah took place, which will be brought into the Beis Medrash HaGadol this Thursday. The Rebbe wrote in the letters, then drank a lechayim and wished R' Yisroel Yaakov and his family well.
