A few minutes after the zman, the Rebbe entered the beis medrash. Maariv was led before the amud by HaGaon R' Dovid Shlomo Laub shlit"a (Monsey).

The davening concluded at around 10:10. The congregation went over to wish a good Yom Tov, and the Rebbe went home to his holy residence.

At around 12:15 the Rebbe entered the shulchan in the Heichal HaShulchanos. Lifting the cup for Kiddush: HaGaon R' Avrohom Simcha Friedman shlit"a.

The Rebbe shlit"a said Torah on the midrash, "When Yisroel received the Torah, the nations of the world became jealous of them." Avrohom Avinu ignited in his children that when it comes to performing mitzvos, the limbs themselves will do the will of Hashem.

Birkas Hamazon: the Rebbe's grandson, Rabbi Dovid Teitelbaum shlit"a, son of the Sigheter Rav shlit"a. The tish ended at around 1:30.

The Second Day of Shavuos

In the morning at 8:30 the Rebbe shlit"a arrived in the beis medrash to take part in the exalted gathering of public Torah learning, and looked around in all the branches of the beis medrash. He then went into his private room to learn Torah with a chavrusa, his grandson, the bochur Yoel, son of the Sigheter Rav shlit"a. At around 9:50 the Rebbe came out and walked through the entire hall of the beis medrash again, and then went down to the Heichal HaTorah as well, where he looked around for an extended time with satisfaction at the thousands of learners, old and young. The sight was magnificent. The Rebbe then went into the "Cheder Dovid," where the Tehillim society for the children was taking place. The Rebbe recited verses of Tehillim with them, and then returned to his private room and continued learning Torah.
Before davening, the Rebbe had the sponsor of the gathering, R' Yoel Yuda Rubinfeld, called over, and the Rebbe bestowed his holy blessings.

The Rebbe entered for davening at around 10:50. Opening of the davening: HaGaon R' Yoel Fr"m shlit"a, moreh tzedek of our kehilla in Monsey. Pesukei DeZimra: HaGaon R' Meir Zwiebel shlit"a. The Rebbe recited "V'chorus" verse by verse, and went to the amud for Shacharis, Yotzer and Hallel, "and as He did on the first day, so He did on the second day," with great arousal. After the Shir Shel Yom, Megillas Rus was recited.

Taking out and returning the Torah: R' Mordechai Weinberger (London) and R' Shaul Friedman (Boro Park). The verses of Shema Yisroel: HaGaon HaKadosh R' Simcha Shalom Steinberger shlit"a, Rav of the Divrei Chaim beis medrash.

Aliyos: Kohen: R' Avrohom Yehoshua HaKohen Glantz; Levi: the Rav of Monsey shlit"a; Shlishi: the Gaon HaGadol, the Rav and Av Beis Din shlit"a; Revi'i: HaGaon HaKadosh R' Avrohom Meir Halberstam shlit"a, Rav of our kehilla in Boro Park, 18th Ave.; Chamishi: the Rebbe shlit"a. Hagbah of the first sefer: R' Avrohom Brach; Gelilah: R' Yoel Brosh Schwartz.

Maftir: R' Meir Hirsch. Hagbah of the second sefer: R' Mordechai Rubin (Williamsburg); Gelilah: R' Yoel Bar Tirnauer (Williamsburg). After the Torah reading, Yizkor was recited.

Mussaf: the Rav of Williamsburg shlit"a. After Aleinu, the Rebbe recited Kaddish for the elevation of the souls of the family of the Beirach Moshe zy"a, who were killed al kiddush Hashem and whose yahrzeit fell on the second day of Yom Tov. Opening of Anim Zemiros: R' Yaakov Schreiber (London).

After davening, the bris of the newborn son of R' Leibush Frankel took place, where the Rebbe served as sandek and mohel. It ended at around 3:10.

At the afternoon seudah in his holy residence, the Rebbe honored his grandson, Rabbi Avrohom Rokeach, son-in-law of the Sigheter Rav shlit"a, with Atah Nigleisa. The Rebbe shlit"a said Torah on the verse "Alisa lamarom shavisa sheivi," the initials of which spell Rashbi. Rabbi Shimon expounds that the "heh" of "HaShishi" refers to the condition of the work of Creation, through which teshuva helps and the Jews accepted the Torah. The Rebbe blessed over the cup.
In the afternoon at 8:30 the Rebbe entered the beis medrash. Mincha: R' Yoel Bar Hirsch.

After Mincha, the Rebbe went up to the platform for the closing tish of the Yom Tov and danced on the platform for a few minutes. They sang at length the Shavuos Yom Tov melodies and the melodies of the sweetness of the Torah. The Rebbe made a siyum on Maseches Kesubos and the start of Maseches Nedarim within the Yesodei HaTorah framework, recited the Hadran, and honored HaGaon R' Yaakov Hersh Friedman shlit"a, maggid shiur (Williamsburg), with reciting Kaddish.
And they continued with joyous melodies.

Then R' Shlomo Wertzberger, shamash of our holy kehilla in Williamsburg, poured the cup for the Rebbe. The Rebbe blessed the chevra kadisha and the entire congregation, and especially the esteemed philanthropist R' Akiva Hersh Klein, sponsor of the Yesodei HaTorah group in Kiryas Joel.

The Rebbe honored his grandson, Rabbi Elazar Teitelbaum shlit"a (London), with the piyut of Atah Nigleisa, and then the Rebbe read the kesubah.

After the zman, the Rebbe recited Baruch HaMavdil and delivered holy words over a microphone. The Rebbe based himself on the verse, "Thus shall you say to the house of Yaakov and tell the children of Yisroel." There are two aspects: to those of high spiritual stature, one gives spiritual abundance first and then material; to the simple people, first material and then spiritual; but everyone receives from both. He mentioned the emotions of his heart over the gathering of public Torah learning, old and young: "Fortunate are you, Yisroel! This will bring forth good influences immediately, and will carry over throughout the year." He then roused the people regarding various matters in need of improvement, especially setting times for Torah and modest dress, and concluded with his holy blessings.

Maariv for Motzei Yom Tov was led before the amud by the chazan of the Avnei Tzedek beis medrash shlit"a, and after Maariv the Rebbe made Havdalah.

After Havdalah, the Rebbe shlit"a came out in front of the main beis medrash for Kiddush Levana and a gathering of holy blessings with song and music, with drums and dancing, in circles of thousands of Jews, men, women, and children. After Kiddush Levana, joyous melodies were sung and the crowd of thousands danced with elevated spirit. The Rebbe shlit"a delivered a holy blessing, and quoted from the Tiferes Shlomo: "Atzeres is an expression of holding back. One must hold on to all the good commitments accepted this Yom Tov in Torah and mitzvos, and one must restrain oneself from the desires of this world, especially regarding impure devices, and keep homes holy and proper with proper dress." He wished abundant blessings. It ended at around 11:00.

In his holy residence, bochurim of the community from Montreal entered. The Rebbe inquired about their learning and blessed them.

And on Yom Tov, they were making merry, and chassidim danced for an extended time in front of the main beis medrash, unable to part from the elevated Yom Tov, taking home all the good influences, material and spiritual, until we merit the coming of the Redeemer.

Fortunate is the eye that saw all this; fortunate is the people for whom it is so; fortunate is the people whose God is Hashem.
