Monday, Parshas Bechukosai — 'B'tzeil HaKodesh' with the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a

The Satmar Rebbe shlit"a davened Shacharis in the heichal of the Mesivta, Divrei Yoel branch. Before davening, the Rebbe put on tefillin for the bar mitzvah bochur, the bochur Moshe Hillel Rosenberg.

During the Torah reading, the Rebbe went up for hagbah. After davening, the Rebbe recited the daily Tehillim shiur, on chapter 11, verse 5. A lechayim was held with the bar mitzvah bochur in the Rebbe's private room.

In the afternoon, the Rebbe shlit"a went up to the Yeshiva hall, Divrei Yoel branch, where the Rebbe learned with a chavrusa from among the talmidim of the Yeshiva in his private room. At 6:15, the Rebbe davened Mincha in the Yeshiva.

In the evening, at around 7:45, the Rebbe shlit"a traveled to Boro Park, where the Rebbe first paid a shiva call to the family of the Kavanas HaLev Rebbe zt"l.

From there, the Rebbe went to the new, magnificent, spacious location of the 'Satmar Meat Market' of our holy kehilla, on 13th Ave. and 44th St. The Rebbe toured all the departments of the store, and then went over to the giant kitchen where, IY"H, the store's foods will be prepared, and eventually also for the Kerem Menachem in the city. The Rebbe marveled at the work invested in establishing the store in such splendor and glory, and conferred his holy blessings upon all those in charge, especially upon the driving force behind the project, R' Yoel Landau.

Afterwards, the Rebbe visited the Beis Chaim Yehoshua Rebbe shlit"a, where a pleasant exchange of stories of tzaddikim from their holy forefathers of Zanz and Sighet took place. The Beis Chaim Yehoshua Rebbe shlit"a honored the Rebbe with a lechayim, and the Rebbe conferred his holy blessings.

From there, the Rebbe traveled to the large gathering "Mesoraseinu" for thousands of members of our community living in Boro Park, for the sake of the future of our generations, in the halls of the Fells. The Rebbe entered at about 10:20, while HaGaon HaTzaddik, the Rav of Beis Medrash Yismach Moshe shlit"a, was in the middle of his address. Afterwards, the chairman of the event, HaRav HaGaon R' Akiva Yosef Kahana shlit"a, principal of the ninth-grade preparatory class for yeshiva, called upon HaGaon HaTzaddik Rabbi Tzvi Elimelech Teitelbaum shlit"a, Rav of Beis Medrash Tefilla L'Moshe of our holy kehilla, who read aloud the regulations and religious foundations of our kehilla and our holy institutions, which were approved and signed by the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a.

At about 11 o'clock, the Rebbe shlit"a delivered holy words and lengthy words of guidance, to hold fast to the tradition of our forefathers and not to change it, Heaven forbid, to daven and learn in the traditional batei medrash where the fathers used to daven. He emphasized that there are two camps, the camp of Hashem and the camp of the crude, and baruch Hashem the majority of the community belongs to the camp of Hashem, but one must see to maintain this, and this can only be done by upholding the regulations of our holy institutions and by having regular Torah shiurim. The Rebbe also urged the community to keep the regulations regarding tznius, kashrus, impure devices, etc., and concluded with his holy blessing to the entire community. The event ended at around 11:45.

Afterwards, the Rebbe davened Maariv in the hall, with the baal tefillah being R' Yoel Friedman, and after Maariv the Rebbe approached the amud for Sefiras HaOmer.

At 12:15, the Rebbe traveled to the new beis medrash named for the holy Rebbe, the Maharsha of Ratzfert, in Boro Park, headed by his grandson Rabbi Chaim Hersh Teitelbaum shlit"a. The Rebbe toured the beis medrash and affixed a mezuzah, and then drank a lechayim and warmly blessed the Rav of the beis medrash and the entire congregation, and in particular blessed the baal habayis, R' Hershel Einhorn. At around 12:30, the Rebbe set out on the way home to his residence in Kiryas Joel.
