Last Day of Pesach, 'B'tzeil HaKodesh' with the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a

In the morning at 10:30 the Rebbe shlit"a entered the beis medrash. Pesukei D'zimra: HaGaon R' Yaakov Hillel Lichtenstein shlit"a. For Shacharis the Rebbe shlit"a went to the amud, and sent to the chazaras HaShatz his grandson Rabbi Lipa Rubin shlit"a, son-in-law of HaGaon R' Baruch shlit"a. For Hallel the Rebbe shlit"a went to the amud, and Shir HaShirim was recited as customary.

Before Mussaf, they went out for Yizkor. The Rebbe shlit"a davened Mussaf with great outpouring of the soul, and R' Yitzchak Ehrenfeld went to the amud for Kah Keili. They concluded at around 2:40.
At the afternoon meal at his holy home, the Rebbe shlit"a made Kiddush on cream puffs and a drink of brandy provided by R' Pinchas Elimelech Weiss, and they brought in a dish made from matzah. The Rebbe shlit"a honored his grandson Rabbi Meir Yuda Ashkenazi shlit"a with the zemiros, and his grandson Rabbi Lipa Ashkenazi shlit"a with Shir HaYichud for the first day. Birkas Hamazon: the Rebbe's son-in-law, HaGaon Rabbi of the Beis Medrash Avnei Tzedek shlit"a.

In the afternoon around 7:30 the Rebbe shlit"a entered the beis medrash for Mincha, together with Shalosh Seudos. Mincha: R' Yaakov Yosef Pilaff, removing and returning the Sefer Torah: R' Betzalel Bash, Kohen: R' Lipa Friedman (Williamsburg), Levi: R' Shlomo Wertzberger, third: the Rebbe's son-in-law, HaGaon Rabbi of the Beis Medrash Avnei Tzedek shlit"a, hagbah: the Rebbe shlit"a, gelilah: Rabbi Shmuel Shlomo Teller shlit"a.

The shamash, R' Yoel Kaufman, poured the lechayim, and the Rebbe wished the Chevra Kadisha, as customary.

At Shalosh Seudos the Rebbe shlit"a honored people with the zemiros. Odeh: R' Noach Gefen, Shir HaMaalos: R' Moshe Goldstein, Yedid Nefesh: R' Avrohom Avish Benbitzer (Toronto), Keil Mistater: R' Avrohom Yaakov Fried (Williamsburg).

The Rebbe recited the blessing over the cup, and they continued singing nigunim in honor of the closing of the Yom Tov.

The Rebbe shlit"a said Torah at a microphone. He based it on the verse in Shir HaShirim, "How beautiful are your steps in sandals," and explained that Jews sing praise to Hashem even when they feel broken that the Yom Tov should have looked much nicer. But when Hashem helps and the righteous redeemer comes, we will merit to fulfill all the mitzvos of the Yom Tov perfectly. For that reason we sing now, "As we have merited to arrange it, so may we merit to perform it."

They sang Ani Maamin in the coming of Moshiach, and afterward the Rebbe shlit"a stood up and danced "Chasal Siddur Pesach" with emotion and fervor for an extended time, together with the entire holy congregation. At the end, the Rebbe said three times "L'shana Haba'ah B'Yerushalayim," as customary.

The Rebbe shlit"a went to the amud for Maariv of Motzei Shabbos in honor of the yahrzeit of the Rebbe's mother. After Havdalah, the Rebbe wished the entire community a good week and a healthy summer. They concluded at 10:45.

The Pesach seder is concluded according to its halacha, with all its laws and statutes. As we have merited to arrange it, so may we merit to perform it.
