Friday, Erev Yom Tov: 'B'tzeil HaKodesh' with the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a

Before davening, the bris of the newborn son of R' Yoel Schoenbrun took place, at which the Rebbe served as sandek.

The Rebbe shlit"a davened Shacharis in the main beis medrash. The davening was quick, as is customary, and Tehillim was not recited after davening. The Rebbe then went into his private room and tasted chametz beer, and then went home to his holy residence, where the Rebbe sold the chametz to the non-Jew, performed the kinyanim, and handed over the shtar.

At around 10:35, the Rebbe went across in front of the main beis medrash for the burning of the chametz. The Rebbe recited the Leshem Yichud and threw the lulav and the chametz into the fire, waited until it was burned completely, and recited Kol Chamira with great arousal, along with the yehi ratzons, and at the end wished a good Yom Tov.

At around 3:00, after the mikvah, the Rebbe arrived at the matzah bakery in the building of the yeshiva ketana on Heitzel Berger Street (Getzil Berger). The Rebbe washed his hands, put on an apron, and poured water into the flour for the sake of the mitzvah. He then approached the table, divided pieces of dough, and rolled out several of them, reciting verses of Hallel with holy emotion and outpouring of the soul. Later the Rebbe looked over the ovens, and then took challah with a blessing.

Then at 4:10, the Rebbe went over to the large matzah bakery of our holy kehilla on Dinev Street (Dinov) 105, and looked over the baking procedure where the matzos mitzvah are baked for the entire community. He poured water into the flour for the sake of the mitzvah, and then the Rebbe went home to his holy residence.

Later in the afternoon, the Rebbe came down to the hall in his holy residence to light the candles in honor of Yom Tov, and looked over the tables prepared for the hundreds of chasanim for the Seder on the night of the holy Yom Tov of Pesach.
