On Friday night at approximately 8:05 the Rebbe shlit"a entered the beis medrash and approached the amud for Mincha, and after Aleinu said Kaddish in honor of the yahrzeit of the Rebbetzin, the righteous Chana a"h, Rebbetzin of Maran the Kedushas Yom Tov zy"a. Kabbalas Shabbos: R' Shlomo Weiss (Boro Park). The davening concluded at approximately 9:35. The congregation went over to wish a good Shabbos, and the Rebbe shlit"a went home to his holy residence.

At approximately 11:40 the Rebbe shlit"a entered the Friday night seudah in the Heichal HaShulchanos, and began, as is his holy custom, 'Shalom Aleichem' with emotion and sweetness. The Rebbe shlit"a conducted the afternoon seudah in the Heichal Mivtzar HaKolelim together with the members of his family. At Kiddush, Purim foods were brought in: 'kindel,' 'nant,' and 'pluten.' For Birchas Hamazon, the Rebbe honored his grandson-in-law, HaGaon Rabbi Baruch shlit"a, Rav of Beis Medrash Birch Moshe.

In the afternoon at 6:15 the Rebbe shlit"a entered the Beis Medrash HaGadol for the Shabbos HaGadol derasha. The Rebbe recited a berachah and wrapped himself in a tallis, went up to the Aron Kodesh and said a silent prayer facing the Aron Kodesh before beginning the derasha, with a lengthy pilpul on the topic of mitzvos requiring kavanah, and then in words of derush and aggadah: through performing mitzvos between man and his fellow, one can receive reward in this world; through the mitzvah of tzedakah that Jews are now fulfilling before Pesach, we will merit to celebrate Yom Tov Pesach in kashrus. He also spoke forcefully about learning Torah, kashrus, tznius among women, and proper dress among the boys, and spoke especially in honor of the expansion of the borders of holiness in the new neighborhoods of Veyoel Moshe, 'Ki Atah Hashem Hirchiv Lanu,' about the responsibility of the first residents, who are the foundation of how it will look later and who set the tone, and the same regarding the areas surrounding Kiryas Joel. He elaborated on preparations for Yom Tov Pesach, how to fulfill the mitzvos of the day, 'so that you may tell in the ears of your son and your son's son,' to relate it in such a way that it can be passed on further, and wished that the Yom Tov pass in peace without any stumbling block. The derasha concluded at approximately 7:35 and the Rebbe went into his private room.

At the Torah, the Rebbe shlit"a expounded on the Tur, a reason why it is called Shabbos HaGadol: the purpose of the Korban Pesach is to offer oneself to the Holy Creator with a thought of mesirus nefesh, but if one, Heaven forbid, is bound to physical desires, one cannot reach mesirus nefesh; through the observance of Shabbos Kodesh, which has the power to subdue physicality, one can reach this.

Maariv of Motzei Shabbos: R' Baruch Mordechai Markowitz. Vihi Noam and Atah Kadosh were not said. After Havdalah the congregation went over to wish a good week; at the end the Rebbe went out for Kiddush Levana in front of the beis medrash and wished a good week, a good month, and a kosher and joyous Yom Tov. The davening concluded at 10:15.

On Motzei Shabbos, at his holy residence, the siyum of the writing of a Sefer Torah took place for the Sefer Torah being written by the mispallelim of Beis Medrash Shaar HaTefilah of Chernovitz, headed by Rabbi Naftali Schneebalg shlit"a, son-in-law of the Gaon, the Dayan and Moreh Tzedek shlit"a, and which this week is being brought into the beis medrash. The Rebbe wrote in the letters and warmly bestowed from his holy blessings.
