Thursday, Parshas Tazria — 'B'tzeil HaKodesh' with the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a

This morning, before Shacharis, the bris of the newborn son of R' Moshe Aryeh Eckstein took place, where the Rebbe served as sandek and mohel.

The Rebbe shlit"a davened Shacharis in the Heichal HaMesivta, Yoel Moshe branch. Before davening, the Rebbe put tefillin on the bar mitzvah bochurim:
The bochur Dovid Yuda Silberstein.
The bochur Yoel Goldstein.
The bochur Chaim Zalman Scheer.
The bochur Aryeh Weiss.
During the Torah reading the Rebbe went up for Hagbah, and after davening a lechayim was held with the bar mitzvah bochurim in his private room.

Then at around 12:15 the Rebbe shlit"a entered the Heichal HaBeis Medrash and delivered the seventh sugya shiur on the sugya of "Mitzvos Tzerichos Kavana" in preparation for the Shabbos HaGadol derasha. It concluded at around 1:00. After the sugya shiur, a lechayim was held in honor of the end of the zman. The Rebbe drank l'chayim, bestowed his holy blessings, and delivered holy words and guidance for the bein hazmanim period. He once again asked all the bochurim to learn Maseches Horayos from Rosh Chodesh Nissan and to finish it on the yahrzeit of the Beirach Moshe zt"l. On the way out, the Rebbe answered questions and engaged in discussion with the bochurim on the depth of the sugya for an extended time.

Rejoice and be glad on Simchas Torah, for it is our strength and light

In the afternoon, the magnificent celebration of the hachnasas sefer Torah took place in the Heichal HaMesivta, Kedushas Yoel branch, arranged by the talmidim of the yeshiva together with the family of R' Nechemya Neiman, l'ilui nishmas their daughter a"h.

At around 5:00 the Torah left the home of the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a, rosh hayeshiva. The Rebbe took the sefer Torah and danced in the area with fiery enthusiasm for several minutes, then danced along and accompanied the sefer Torah under the chuppah along the Route (Rte.) 17 of Monsey... [see note] and honored the yeshiva's director, HaGaon Rabbi Kalman Halberstam shlit"a, Av Beis Din of Zanz Kiryas Yoel, and R' Gershon Mendel Neiman and his son R' Nechemya to dance.

Afterwards the Rebbe returned home, where HaGaon Rabbi Moshe Brandsdorfer shlit"a, Gaavad of Heichal Horaah in Yerushalayim, came for a private visit. A lengthy conversation took place about various interesting questions concerning the time of the Megillah reading in different places in Eretz Yisroel, matzos, kashrus and shechita. The Rebbe bestowed his blessings upon him and gave him a gift of his sefer Haggadah Lev Aharon, inscribing it as a token of friendship. The Rebbe invited him to come on Sunday to see the slaughterhouse, and then escorted him out to the street.

At around 7:20 the Rebbe shlit"a arrived at the Heichal HaMesivta, Kedushas Yoel branch, for the hachnasas sefer Torah celebration. The Rebbe shlit"a took the sefer Torah and danced with holy fire for an extended time, then honored the director, HaGaon Rabbi Kalman Halberstam shlit"a, to dance with the sefer. The Rebbe recited "L'Dovid Mizmor" as is customary, and then davened Mincha in the yeshiva.

After Mincha, all the bochurim of the yeshiva who had learned 36 consecutive hours or more entered the Rebbe's private room, where the Rebbe distributed holy coins. It concluded at around 8:15.

In the evening, there were entry times for private audiences from 8:20 until 11:30. At around 10:30 the Rebbe shlit"a davened Maariv and then continued receiving the public.

The Rebbe shlit"a read the tenaim in his home for the mechutanim R' Yoel Kraus and R' Yechezkel Shraga Katz.

At around 11:30 the Rebbe shlit"a arrived at the halls of Beis Rachel Paradise for the siyum seudah of Torah. The Rebbe broke out in a fiery dance in the area, then drank l'chayim and bestowed his holy blessings upon the director shlit"a, the family and all the bochurim, and delivered brief holy words and guidance for the bein hazmanim period. It concluded at around 12:10.
