Tuesday, Parshas Tazria — 'B'tzeil HaKodesh' with the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a

The Satmar Rebbe shlit"a davened Shacharis in the Heichal of Yeshiva Gedolah, Shiur Daled. Before davening, the Rebbe put tefillin on the bar mitzvah bochur, the bochur Yoel Yermiash.

After davening, a lechayim gathering was held with the bar mitzvah bochur in the Heichal of the beis medrash. A pleasant conversation ensued, and the Rebbe spoke in praise of the yeshiva, which is open until Yom Tov of Pesach, and warmly blessed the roshei yeshiva and the bochurim.

In the morning at 1:45, the Rebbe shlit"a delivered the fifth shiur on the sugya of "mitzvos require intent," in preparation for the Shabbos HaGadol derasha, in the Heichal of the Mesivta, Kedushas Yoel branch. It concluded at around 2:20. On his way out, the Rebbe responded to questions and engaged in lengthy give-and-take with the bochurim in the depth of the sugya.

In the afternoon, the kiddushin celebration (vort) took place for a granddaughter of the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a, the kallah, daughter of HaGaon Rabbi Yoel shlit"a, rav of Beis Medrash Beis Boruch, in the home of the kallah's father, HaGaon Rabbi Yoel shlit"a. The Rebbe arrived at around 4:00. The distinguished grandfathers, the Rabbanim HaTzadikim shlit"a, were also present. Joyous melodies were sung, and a lengthy conversation developed about the lineage of the chosson and kallah, which reaches back to the holiest of sources, and about stories and deeds of the great grandfathers, the founders of the dynasty. Afterward the chosson and kallah performed the kinyan. The Rebbe drank a lechayim and bestowed his holy blessings upon the chosson, the mechutanim, the grandfathers, and the entire gathering.

On his way out, the Rebbe wished the kallah well, and afterward davened Mincha. After Mincha, the Rebbe arranged the tenaim and the chosson performed the kinyan, and the time of the vort celebration was set for the coming Chol HaMoed Pesach.

Afterward, the Rebbe shlit"a paid a visit at the home of HaGaon Rabbi Yoel shlit"a to HaGaon Rabbi Leibish Halberstam shlit"a, Av Beis Din of Zanz-Gribov in Boro Park, on the occasion of the wedding of his daughter, the kallah. A pleasant conversation developed, and the Rebbe bestowed his holy blessings.

From there the Rebbe shlit"a traveled to Monsey, where the Rebbe comforted the distinguished philanthropist R' Binyamin Filipsohn on the passing of his wife a"h. From there the Rebbe traveled to Williamsburg. Upon arrival, the Rebbe went to comfort R' Zalman Leib and his brother R' Mendel Meir Glick on the passing of their mother a"h.

From there the Rebbe shlit"a went to our magnificent beis medrash, the Brach building, to the Sheva Brachos celebration arranged by the administration of Yeshiva L'Tze'irim of Williamsburg in honor of the chosson Rabbi Yaakov Aharon Krasnefeld, especially for the early-risers group of Yeshiva L'Tze'irim. The Rebbe drank a lechayim and bestowed his holy blessings upon the chosson and the mechutan, upon HaGaon the Av Beis Din shlit"a, and upon the rebbeim of the yeshiva. The Rebbe also spoke briefly words of kodesh about the greatness of rising early in the morning to learn Torah.

Afterward, entry times for yechidus took place from 8:30 until 1:00 in his dwelling in Williamsburg. At 11:50 the Rebbe davened Maariv and then continued receiving the public. During the entry times, a brief meeting was held with several esteemed askanim and communal figures regarding the situation of our Jewish brethren, refugees from Ukraine, who are arriving in Eretz Yisroel.
