Monday, Parshas Tazria — 'B'tzeil HaKodesh' with the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a

This morning, before Shacharis, the bris of the newborn son of R' Shlomo Zalman Epstein took place, with the Rebbe serving as sandek and mohel.

The Rebbe shlit"a davened Shacharis in the Heichal HaMesivta, Divrei Yoel branch. During the Torah reading, the Rebbe was called up for Shlishi.

After davening, the Rebbe learned the daily Tehillim shiur, on chapter 10, verse 2. Afterwards, the foreign bochurim, students of the yeshiva, went in to bid farewell in the inner sanctum, in the Rebbe's private room.


In the late morning at 1:45, the Rebbe shlit"a entered the Heichal HaMesivta, Kedushas Yoel branch, where the Rebbe delivered the sugya shiur on the sugya of "mitzvos need kavana," in preparation for the Shabbos HaGadol drasha. It concluded around 2:30. On the way out, the Rebbe responded to the bochurim and engaged in lively give-and-take with them, delving deeply into the sugya.

In the afternoon around 6:30, the Rebbe received a visit from HaGaon HaTzaddik Rabbi Yoshe Katz shlit"a, Av Beis Din of Magerov. He conveyed greetings from our kehilla's mehudar matzah bakery in Kiryas Joel, where he had baked matzos for Yom Tov Pesach, and he highly praised its hiddurim. A fine conversation ensued on matters of sofrus, regarding the problems with mezuzos that the Rebbe shlit"a had raised, during which the Rebbe showed a mezuzah that was, chas v'shalom, "printed" on the parchment. They also discussed the kashrus of Pesach-certified products, and the Rebbe bestowed his holy blessings. At 7:00 the Rebbe davened Mincha in his holy home.

In the evening, there were visiting hours in the inner sanctum from 8:00 until 12:20, and afterwards the Rebbe davened Maariv in his holy home.
