Thursday, Parshas Shemini — 'B'tzeil HaKodesh' with the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a

The Rebbe shlit"a davened Shacharis in the beis medrash "Rav Tuv" in Kiryas Joel together with the talmidim of the yeshiva ketana "Maayan HaTorah" of our holy mosdos in Boro Park. Before davening, the Rebbe put on tefillin for the bar mitzvah bochurim.

Afterwards the Rebbe lit 5 candles in honor of the yahrzeit of the holy Rebbe R' Elimelech zy"a. Before Hodu, the "Tefilla Kodem HaTefilla" of Rebbe R' Elimelech zy"a was recited. The Rebbe shlit"a davened at length with tears for a third of the time, which stretched close to half an hour. During the Torah reading, the Rebbe went up for Hagbah.

After davening, a lechayim gathering was held in the main hall of the beis medrash in honor of the yahrzeit. The Rebbe drank lechayim and wished the bar mitzvah bochurim, the bochurim who are about to become bar mitzvah, and all the bochurim well. He then spoke words of holiness about the greatness of the holiness and brilliant light of the Baal HaHilula, who left a holy impression that endures to this very day, that the fact that there is still a Jew today with fear of Heaven is only thanks to the holy power of the holy Rebbe R' Elimelech zy"a. He then spoke about the holiness of the Tefilla Kodem HaTefilla, and concluded with words of praise for the yeshiva and his holy blessing.

In the morning at 1:45, the Rebbe shlit"a entered the Heichal HaMesivta, Kedushas Yoel branch, where the Rebbe delivered the second shiur on the topic of "Mitzvos Tzrichos Kavana," in preparation for the Shabbos HaGadol derasha. It concluded around 2:40.

Afterwards the Rebbe went over to the adjacent yeshiva building where the bochurim were engaged in grinding wheat for Yom Tov of Pesach, IY"H. The Rebbe looked over the grinding process and then personally ground wheat, with physical exertion, for an extended time.

In the afternoon at 6:15, the Rebbe davened Mincha in his holy home. Before davening, the Rebbe lit 5 candles in honor of the yahrzeit.

In the evening, the Rebbe shlit"a officiated at kiddushin at the chuppah of the following mechutanim.

After the chuppos, the Rebbe paid a condolence call to HaGaon Rabbi Shlomo Zabel shlit"a, dayan of the Beis Dov beis medrash of our holy kehilla in Kiryas Joel, on the passing of his brother, R' Asher Zabel a"h.

In the evening, there were times for entering the inner sanctum from 8:15 until 11:30. Around 9:45 the Rebbe davened Maariv and then continued receiving the public.
