Friday, Shushan Purim — 'B'tzeil HaKodesh' with the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a

Before davening, the bris of the newborn son of R' Yehoshua Mittelman took place, with the Rebbe serving as sandek and mohel. Davening began at 10:55. Before davening, the Rebbe shlit"a put on tefillin for the bar mitzvah bochurim.

In the afternoon at 2:25, the Rebbe shlit"a entered the holy tish in honor of the day. They increased in joyous songs. The first Torah thought was on the verse "U'vevo'o lifnei hamelech," explaining that Hashem, in His abundant mercy and kindness, counts sins as they are felt in this world, and not as they are in Heaven, where the damage is immeasurable.
The second Torah thought was on the institution of matanos la'evyonim as a remembrance of the miracle that happened when the Jews were undeserving and in the state of paupers.

The gathering rose to dance to the tune of "V'chesed Hashem me'olam ad olam."

HaGaon R' Yonah Gutman shlit"a went up to the table to recite rhymes in honor of the bochurim of the yeshivos ketanos, who brought a valuable gift of 36 consecutive hours of learning from each individual bochur, which they learned between Adar and Adar from Rosh Chodesh, as per the holy directive, and a gift of the new Zemiros Berach Moshe. The head of the administrators, HaGaon R' Baruch Shlomo Weinberger shlit"a, presented a booklet with all the names for remembrance in a sefer. The Rebbe shlit"a expressed his nachas and spoke in praise of the bochurim who brought this very valuable gift, and in praise of all the bochurim of the yeshivos ketanos and gedolos of Kiryas Joel and of the city, who observed Yom Tov Purim with yiras Shamayim, raising the glory of Torah and yirei Shamayim with refinement.

He said a Torah thought on "the eyes of Israel, the princes, for the reading of the Megillah," that through the reading of the Megillah one turns from death and famine to abundant money. He spoke in praise of Klal Yisroel, who spent millions of dollars on tzedakah, and said that even if one gives tzedakah today as well, one does not transgress "bal tosif." He sent up everyone named Yosef to go up to the table to collect money for the fund of the Rebbe, Avnei Chesed. Afterwards he said a Torah thought and wished that through the first and last "vav" of the Megillah, a channel is made to bring down blessings and draw from the treasury of blessings for the entire community.

Afterwards, the Purim rav, Rabbi Shlomo Leib Weinberger and Rabbi Hershel Friedman, went up to the table to bring joy in honor of the day.

With "Asher Heini," the Rebbe honored HaGaon R' Aharon Mordechai Brisk shlit"a, dayan of Tashnad Monsey; "Shoshanas Yaakov": HaRav HaTzaddik R' Yosef Mordechai Wagshal shlit"a, head of the kollel Erev Shabbos and rav of the beis medrash. The Rebbe shlit"a blessed the cup. It concluded at 5:10.
