A major campaign, "L'Hagdil," will take place this coming Sunday and Monday, Parshas Vayishlach, to enable the addition of two new floors to the Beis Rachel D'Satmar building in Manchester
The eyes of our dear brethren are turned to you! The devoted askanim, the members of the Beis Rachel board and the entire kehilla of Satmar chassidim in Manchester anticipate an outstretched hand, with the help of the worldwide public of Satmar talmidim and chassidim, to carry out the "expansion of the borders of holiness" by helping to finance a costly project of over 750 thousand pounds
Manchester. – Satmar chassidim everywhere are preparing in these days for the great matching campaign that has been named "L'Hagdil," which has been officially set for this coming Sunday and Monday of Parshas Vayishlach, 13 and 14 Kislev, IY"H, for the benefit of the great project of adding two new floors to the existing building of "Beis Rachel D'Rabbeinu Yoel D'Satmar" in the city of Manchester, may Hashem protect it. It is aimed at financing the costly "expansion of the borders of holiness" project of over 750 thousand pounds, which urgently needs to be raised through our like-minded brethren all over the world.
The current campaign is fundamental to the very existence and future of Satmar chassidim in Manchester! It is a matter of laying the foundation for the foundation of foundations, for the foundation of the kehilla and its mosdos, of our own very close like-minded brothers who are bound to our hearts; namely, simply providing a roof over the heads of, and a home for, the dear daughters of Satmar chassidim in the city of Manchester, so that they too will have the ability to send their children to be educated in fear of Heaven, modesty and good character traits, and in all the fundamentals of our faith, with Satmar charm and sincerity, as befits the students of Beis Rachel, on the path paved for us by our holy Rebbes zy"a, as it continues to be carried on with strength and courage by the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a.
Over four years ago, soon after the institution was renewed, the devoted board members, who attend to the needs of the public with faithfulness, threw themselves into the work of finding a suitable location for the institution, to provide broader horizons for the dear students. The school was first established in a rented location, but seeing the tremendous success, as the institution grows and flourishes, it was immediately seen that they must seriously look into a suitable location that could be purchased, in order to establish the institution there permanently, properly and correctly.
After various kinds of proposals and possible projects, with Hashem's help they succeeded, based on the holy counsel and with the holy blessing of the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a, in arriving at the best place, a very suitable location in the center of the Chassidic neighborhood, a beautiful and splendid building with the ability to be expanded according to need.
Soon after the purchase was made at a good hour, they began to work out the plans for the new building, when first of all an intensive renovation was undertaken on the two existing floors, to provide enough classrooms, a dining hall, offices and all other needs, in order to educate the students, with Hashem's help.
But now the time has come when "the place has become too narrow for me," and as the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a said at the time upon concluding the first purchase, "This big one will become small"... and there is now an urgent need to build up two new large floors in order to accommodate the entire institution at the present moment.
Adding the two new floors involves the fantastic sum of "750 thousand pounds," in addition to all other expenses expected for renovating all the sections and bringing the two new floors into actual use for the girls' school.
For the opening of the "L'Hagdil" matching campaign, the esteemed board members of the institution and the building fund committee turn with a heartfelt call to the entire holy community of like-minded, generous brethren among the talmidim and chassidim of Satmar: "Our dear brethren, please! Awaken and arouse yourselves! Help us with this difficult undertaking and join with larger sums for the "L'Hagdil" campaign, on which depends the future of the chinuch of girls and the continued success of our kehilla, the holy community of Satmar-Manchester, may Hashem protect it, and together we will build for Hashem, the G-d of Israel."
"And I will give them in My house a monument and a name, an everlasting name that shall not be cut off!"
"And they shall make Me a Sanctuary, and I will dwell among them"
