Friday, Parshas Vayikra — 'B'tzeil HaKodesh' with the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a

The Rebbe shlit"a davened Shacharis in the Beis Medrash Etz Chaim in Sighet, together with the talmidim of the Yeshiva Ketana, Ahavas HaTorah branch, under the direction of HaGaon Rabbi Moshe Shmuel Rottenberg shlit"a. Before davening, the Rebbe put tefillin on the bar mitzvah bochur, the son of HaGaon Rabbi Avrohom Oberlander shlit"a.

After davening, the bris took place of the newborn son of R' Aharon Yuda Schwartz, with the Rebbe serving as sandek and mohel.

Afterwards a lechayim was held in the hall of the beis medrash. The Rebbe drank a lechayim and bestowed his holy blessings upon the baal bris and his family, upon the bar mitzvah bochur, upon the maggidei shiur, and upon all the bochurim, and then delivered holy words and guidance to the bochurim regarding learning Torah in the early morning hours before davening.

In the forenoon, the Rebbe shlit"a held a telephone conference with the rabbanim of the Committee for the Rescue of Ukrainian Jewry, and discussed further actions for the rescue of our fellow Jews. The Rebbe also sent a huge sum of money, which one of the community members had handed over privately to the Rebbe for the major campaign, explaining that he had saved the money to buy various expensive items, but he wished to give it instead for the rescue of our fellow Jews.

It was also announced that this coming Sunday, Parshas Tzav, there will be special times for private entry for all those who wish to have the merit of handing the Rebbe shlit"a a holy pidyon of $1,800 and up for the rescue of Ukrainian Jewry, from 8:00 to 9:00 in the evening, in his private room in the Beis Medrash HaGadol.
