At the historic "Shabbos Ameilei Torah," on Shabbos Kodesh morning at the seudah, our teacher HaGaon Rabbi, Av Beis Din and Rosh Yeshiva of Williamsburg shlit"a delivered the central address and held the audience spellbound on the topic "The Meaning of the Kollel Era." The Rav spoke about the purpose of the kollel, why Rabbeinu Hakadosh zy"a initially did not want to establish the kollel, and what the purpose of the kollel is today. The Rav spoke at great length about the role of a kollel yungerman among the pillars of learning. One needs the commitment of a framework, so that even when he goes out to work, it accompanies him. And when one needs to pray for children, one should not simply pray for children, but for upright children. Likewise, the Rav asked the yungeleit to set a fixed shiur in the holy sefer Vayoel Moshe.
In the middle of the address, the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a arrived and washed for the seudah. The Rebbe listened to the address of his firstborn and beloved son, and after the address the Rebbe thanked the Rav shlit"a, saying "It was a fine address."
