An Uplifting Rosh Chodesh Seudah for the Gabbaim of the Kevias Itim Initiative
Serves as a Source of Chizuk for the Gabbaim to Continue with Their Holy Work
On the past Rosh Chodesh Kislev, a rich Rosh Chodesh gathering took place for the esteemed gabbaim of the Kevias Itim initiative of our holy kehilla in Kiryas Joel, where the "gabbaim chavrusos" of all the batei medrash of our holy kehilla came together. They give themselves over with heart and soul, far more than can possibly be compensated, to raise the power of Torah and spirituality here in the city, by arranging Torah shiurim and suitable chavrusos in a set time for every area of Torah study, for anyone who seeks.

During the gathering, the gabbaim shared with one another advice and thoughts from their experience on how to further raise and strengthen the power of Torah in our city, and it was a strong source of chizuk for the esteemed gabbaim to continue with their holy work with even greater vigor and strength.

Entering any of the batei medrash of our holy kehilla at any time, it is a majestic sight to see how the batei medrash are abuzz with esteemed learners, those who set aside times for Torah, who are engaged in the various areas of Torah study. All of this is thanks to the massive efforts of the "Kevias Itim gabbaim," who have put in their主 energy, the majority of their efforts, to ensure, b'ezras Hashem, that Torah be made great and glorious.
To recount the activities of the Kevias Itim L'Torah initiative seems entirely superfluous, since everyone sees it for himself, and whoever enters the batei medrash of our holy kehilla throughout the length and breadth of the city sees it immediately with his own eyes: our fruits testify about us.
The activities of the Kollel Yungerleit Association are led by the well-known director HaRav R' Yoshe Teller, who is appointed by the kehilla to arrange the public shiurim in the Beis Medrash HaGadol day after day, and especially at special times throughout the year, when the "Kevias Itim L'Torah" initiative is focused on ensuring that every single resident of the city has a connection to the holy Torah and is assured of one or several shiurei Torah throughout the day.
The initiative is energetically led by the well-known man of action who brings merit to the many, HaRav R' Yoel Weinberger shlit"a, who is the lifeblood and the central pillar of the tremendous power of Torah that goes out daily from our city of Kiryas Joel. R' Yoel shlit"a, the appointee of the kehilla, does not rest by day and does not sleep at night. As long as there is still even one Jew in Kiryas Joel or the surrounding areas who has not yet joined a daily shiur, R' Yoel simply has no rest from it. This is the secret of the tremendous success of the initiative: HaRav R' Yoel shlit"a takes the entire initiative so personally, as his own project.
Together with HaRav R' Yoel shlit"a stands a staff of askanim, all of whom are employed by the kehilla, and each of whom has been placed by the kehilla in one of the kehilla's batei medrash, to help out there locally for the mispallelim, to gather chavrusos, and to ensure all the activities for the advancement of the power of Torah.
HaRav R' Avrohom Yosef Ackerman shlit"a – gabbai of Beis Medrash Avnei Tzedek,
HaRav R' Dovid Tzvi Gross shlit"a – gabbai of Beis Medrash Yismach Moshe,
HaRav R' Amram Cohen – gabbai of Beis Medrash Yismach Moshe,
HaRav R' Mordechai Kahn – gabbai of Beis Medrash Beis Mordechai,
HaRav R' Menachem Zev Teitelbaum – gabbai of Beis Medrash Beis Mordechai,
HaRav R' Avrohom Leib Landau – gabbai of Beis Medrash Beirach Moshe,
HaRav R' Shalom Waldman – gabbai of Beis Medrash Ohel Feiga,
HaRav R' Avrohom Avir Schwartz – gabbai of Beis Medrash Beis Boruch,
HaRav R' Yoel Shalom Laub – gabbai of Beis Medrash D'Bloomingburg,
HaRav R' Yitzchak Pinchas Oesterreicher – gabbai of Beis Medrash D'Bloomingburg,
HaRav R' Binyamin Yosef Soffer – Kevias Itim office,
HaRav R' Naftali Singer – gabbai of Rav Tuv and Beis Shmuel Binyamin,

And R' Yoel himself? Besides being the official appointee of the initiative in the Beis Medrash HaGadol, he has no rest... and runs around daily to the batei medrash across the city, here to meet with the gabbaim of the initiative, there to give a smile to a fresh yungerman, and there simply to show that when it comes to any Torah matter, one is always ready, and so, baruch Hashem, great and hidden things are accomplished. This is in addition to R' Yoel's activities in faithfully accompanying the renowned groups "Yesodei HaTorah" and "Toras'cha Sha'ashuai"
and more that is connected with various activities to make Torah great and glorious.
This is in addition to the other employees of the initiative, such as HaRav R' Moshe Elimelech Wieder shlit"a, whose task is to provide chavrusos especially for those seeking extra shiurim every Friday-Erev Shabbos, Shabbos Kodesh, Motzei Shabbos and other special times. As well as HaRav R' Chaim Menachem Feldman shlit"a, who stands ready for all the activities of the initiative.
The kehilla administration, which bears the burden of paying the salaries of all the appointees, pays fixed salaries to the maggidei shiur shlit"a in the batei medrash, as well as office and administrative costs, which cost the kehilla over one hundred thousand dollars a year!
The initiative's activities are not limited merely to providing chavrusos and the like. The askanim of the initiative, headed by the lifeblood HaRav R' Yoel shlit"a, constantly come up with fresh ideas on how to raise the glory of Torah in the city. And merely by turning to one of the initiative's gabbaim, one is served with chavrusos or any other services, to make setting times for Torah easier for everyone.
The kehilla administration calls out with pride and gratitude to all members of the kehilla: by paying your pledge, you have a share in all these activities, and you enter into "Cursed be he who does not uphold the words of this Torah." When you enter one of the batei medrash and see a full beis medrash with learners, feel good and enjoy the nachas; you can say with pride, "I am a chaver," thank Hashem, I have a share in the exalted activities to make Torah great and glorious.
