Shabbos Kodesh Parshas Vayakhel, Shabbos Shekalim, Shabbos Mevarchim Adar II, "B'tzeil HaKodesh" with the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a, during the holy journey to Manchester to strengthen and establish our chassidim in Europe, and on the occasion of the expansion of the holy boundaries within our holy institutions in Manchester, may it be built.
The light of Your countenance upon us, O Lord, lift up: With uplifted spirits, in holy chambers, with great excitement and elevation, thousands of our chassidim, residents of Europe, experienced the historic Shabbos Kodesh in the holy presence of the Rebbe shlit"a among our holy kehilla in Manchester, and warmed themselves in his brilliant light at the holy tefillos and uplifting tishen.
Throughout Shabbos Kodesh at the tefillos, the main beis medrash, with all its side rooms and additional tents, and at the seudos in the gigantic Beis Yaakov hall, were filled from end to end, with no room to spare, with thousands of our chassidim from Europe, who came to take part in the uplifting Shabbos, to take refuge in the shadow of holiness.
A special large hall was set up separately where the Shabbos Kodesh seudos were prepared for the hundreds of guests, along with a specially magnificent area for the distinguished members of the community.
On Erev Shabbos late in the afternoon, HaGaon Rabbi Shmuel Binyamin Kraus shlit"a, president of Yeshivas Toras Chesed London, who came especially for Shabbos in the Rebbe's holy presence, was received in private audience by the Rebbe shlit"a. He handed over a kvitel to the Rebbe shlit"a and was blessed as the Rebbe bestowed his holy blessings.
On Friday night at around 6:15 the Rebbe shlit"a entered the beis medrash wrapped in his tallis and approached the amud for Mincha. Kabbalas Shabbos: R' Moshe Goldstein (Kiryas Joel).
Davening ended at around 7:45. Afterwards the enormous crowd came over to wish a gutten Shabbos, along with hundreds more Yidden from the city, which continued for about an hour. Then the Rebbe shlit"a went to his Shabbos lodging at the home of R' Shalom Baruch Rothbard.
At around 10:10 the Rebbe shlit"a entered the Shabbos seudah in the gigantic Beis Yaakov hall in the city, in the presence of thousands of our chassidim from Europe, with the participation of all the rabbonim and dayanim of the city of Manchester.
The Rebbe shlit"a began, in his holy manner, with "Shalom Aleichem" with emotion and sweetness. Eishes Chayil: the Rebbe's grandson Rabbi Elazar Teitelbaum shlit"a, son of HaGaon Rabbi, Av Beis Din of Vomsbag shlit"a (London). Raising the cup for Kiddush: the HaGaon, Av Beis Din and Rav of our Manchester kehilla shlit"a.
During the seudah, Shabbos Kodesh nigunim were sung for an extended time with an enthusiasm that carried along the vast crowd.
The Rebbe shlit"a honored people with the zemiros. Kol Mekadeish: HaGaon Rabbi Chaim Heimlich shlit"a, Rosh Av Beis Din of Machzikei Hadas; Menucha V'Simcha: HaGaon Rabbi Aharon Greenfeld shlit"a, dayan of Belz.
The Rebbe shlit"a delivered Torah on the reading of Shekalim, on the verse "When you take the sum of the children of Israel," and explained, in the manner of a derush, the topic of a doubt regarding a Torah-level law: whether the Torah rules leniently or stringently.

From there the Rebbe shlit"a went to the hall of Adas Yeshurun, where the Rebbe participated in the Kiddush Rabba celebration of the chosson, son of R' Eliezer Low of London. The Rebbe made Kiddush and warmly wished the chosson and the mechutanim well.
Afterwards the Rebbe went to his lodging at the home of Rabbi Leibel Tauber shlit"a. At the Shabbos day seudah, the family of the host joined, as well as the HaGaon, Av Beis Din of Vomsbag shlit"a, and pleasant conversations in divrei Torah and chassidus went on.
