Report of the Holy Journey of the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a to Manchester, England - Part 3
Thursday afternoon the Rebbe shlit"a arrived for a visit at the home of HaGaon Rabbi Gavriel Krauss shlit"a, Dayan of Kehal Machzikei Hadas Manchester. A pleasant conversation took place on various questions regarding brachos. The Dayan shlit"a gave the Rebbe a gift of his sefer which he had published, and the Rebbe shlit"a gave a gift in return, his sefer Lev Aharon. Afterwards the Dayan honored the Rebbe with a lechayim, and the Rebbe bestowed his holy blessings. The Dayan accompanied the Rebbe shlit"a out to the street despite his weak strength.
From there the Rebbe shlit"a arrived for a friendly visit at the home of the Horodenka Rebbe shlit"a. A lengthy Torah conversation took place, along with various interesting recollections from earlier times. The Horodenka Rebbe honored the Rebbe with a lechayim and the Rebbe bestowed his holy blessings.
From there the Rebbe shlit"a arrived for a visit at the home of HaGaon Rabbi Aharon Greenfeld shlit"a, Dayan of the Belz community. A pleasant conversation took place on various questions in the city, and especially about the shechita of Kehal Machzikei Hadas, regarding all its hiddurim and chumros. Also taking part was HaRav R' Menachem Siman shlit"a, head shochet of Machzikei Hadas and member of the board of our holy yeshiva in Manchester. He showed the Rebbe his chalafim to be checked, which the Rebbe praised greatly. Afterwards he invited the Rebbe to come visit the shechita house this coming Monday. The Dayan honored the Rebbe with a lechayim and the Rebbe bestowed his holy blessings.
Afterwards the Rebbe drove over to the grounds of the new yeshiva building. The Rebbe looked over the large site and warmly wished the yeshiva administration well.
From there the Rebbe shlit"a arrived at the new and magnificent Beis Rochel building. First the Rebbe davened Mincha in one of the classrooms. Afterwards the Rebbe walked through all the floors, classrooms and offices and admired the construction work. Then a lechayim gathering took place, several niggunim were sung, and the Rebbe drank a lechayim and warmly bestowed his holy blessings upon the administration and the entire public. Afterwards the Rebbe gave a gift of a magnificent bottle of wine to the two heads of Beis Rochel, Rabbi Yoel Horowitz shlit"a, Ruach HaChaim of our holy kehilla in Manchester, and Rabbi Lipa Tager, and the Rebbe examined the plans for the two new floors that will be added to the current building.
Afterwards the Rebbe shlit"a returned to his holy residence at the guest house, where the beginning of the writing of a Sefer Torah took place, which is being written by R' Shalom Baruch Rothbard. The Rebbe wrote the first two letters, drank a lechayim, and bestowed his holy blessings upon him and his entire family.
Later in the evening, from around 7:30, there was a time of entry into the holy chamber for the community members from Europe, which continued until the early morning hours, 3:15. Around 11:45 the Rebbe shlit"a davened Maariv and then continued to receive the public.
