"To Make Them Days of Feasting and Joy" - Leil Purim Katan 'B'tzeil HaKodesh' with the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a

At around 9:00 the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a entered the pure tish for Purim Katan, amid drums and dancing, in the presence of thousands upon thousands of Jews, in our great beis medrash in Kiryas Joel.

Upon entering, the Rebbe danced in his place in honor of the day for a few minutes, and right after washing for the seudah the Rebbe shlit"a honored HaGaon Rabbi Shlomo Zevel shlit"a, Moreh Tzedek of Beis Medrash Beis Dov of our holy kehilla, with making the siyum on the six sedarim of Mishnah that are learned through the Ahavas Kadumim shiurim in our great beis medrash in Kiryas Joel, and HaRav R' Dovid Perl shlit"a, maggid shiur in our holy kehilla, with reciting Kaddish.

During the seudah they prolonged the singing of praises and songs with joy and gladness, with stirring melodies and melodies of simcha and dancing, and after the fish the Rebbe wished lechayim to the entire gathering.

The Rebbe shlit"a delivered divrei kodesh five times during the seudah. The first time, the Rebbe mentioned that it is now a year since the hachnasas sefer Torah celebration that was brought in by the Rebbe shlit"a last year on Shushan Purim. He spoke with great emotion about the zechus that this mitzvah has now been completed in its entirety, and this is a tremendous simcha, since on Shabbos Parshas Tetzaveh the reading of the sefer Torah was completed over the course of the year, whereby the completion of the mitzvah was finished and it brings down good blessings. Afterwards the Rebbe mentioned the acceptances of the consecutive hours of learning by the thousands of bochurim as a minchas bikkurim for the Rebbe shlit"a, and asked of the bochurim: "Kimu v'kiblu" - to accept upon themselves once again to learn the consecutive hours from Rosh Chodesh until Purim, IY"H, and concluded with warm, holy blessings with the blessings of the Torah. Afterwards they continued with fiery dancing as on Simchas Torah.

At the second dvar Torah the Rebbe shlit"a delivered words of drush in honor of the day. At the third dvar Torah the Rebbe shlit"a spoke about the tremendous influences that descend during the days of Purim, and spoke words of guidance, especially for the bochurim: one must be careful not to be influenced by the nature of America, "for America is the source of desires," which was the goal of Achashverosh, "to do according to the will of every man." The Rebbe mentioned the Rema, that one should make a Purim Katan seudah, and he concludes, "v'tov lev mishteh tamid"; "tamid" has the gematria of "chosam" (seal). One must have a seal, one must be careful to have a seal on the mouth, both regarding eating and especially regarding melodies from a source that is not proper.

Later the Rebbe shlit"a delivered the fourth dvar Torah and spoke about the mitzvah of matanos l'evyonim, that even though it only applies on the great Purim, one does not transgress "bal tosif" if one gives tzedakah on Purim Katan..., and said that he has a personal purpose for a needy Jew, and in connection with this he honored all Jews named "Yosef" to go up to the tish and collect money for the mitzvah, and afterwards thanked all those who collected the money.

Then the Rebbe shlit"a delivered the fifth dvar Torah and spoke about how the miracle of Purim came in the merit of the mitzvah of mezuzah, and mentioned what was previously spoken about regarding kosher mezuzos, and announced good news: that a talmid chacham and yirei Shamayim from among the rabbonim of our holy kehilla in Bnei Brak has been appointed to stand guard and to collect from reliable sofrim in Eretz Yisroel whom he knows, and send them to America to be sold with the utmost kashrus.
Afterwards R' Hershel Friedman and R' Eli Switzer performed with words of badchanus, and after bentching the Rebbe shlit"a recited Sheva Brachos for several chasanim of the kehilla. It concluded at around 11:45.

After the tish the Rebbe shlit"a traveled to Boro Park, to grace with his presence the wedding simcha in our holy courts. The kallah is a granddaughter of the Beirach Moshe zt"l, daughter of HaGaon Rabbi Zalman Leib Meisels shlit"a, Moreh Tzedek in our kehilla, and granddaughter of the Av Beis Din of our kehilla shlit"a.

At around 1:10 the Rebbe shlit"a arrived at the Ateres Golda hall. The Rebbe first greeted the Av Beis Din shlit"a and inquired about his health, and then the Rebbe tasted in honor of the simcha, drank lechayim, and wished holy blessings to the chasan, the mechutanim, and the grandfathers.
R' Moshe Yoshe Weiss called out the Rebbe shlit"a to the mitzvah tantz, and the Rebbe danced before the kallah as is customary, and afterwards danced with the chasan, the mechutanim, and the esteemed grandfathers.

After the mitzvah tantz the Rebbe wished the kallah as is customary, and at about 1:50 the Rebbe shlit"a traveled back to Williamsburg, to his holy residence.
