On Friday night at around 5:55, the Rebbe shlit"a entered the beis medrash wrapped in his tallis and approached the amud for Mincha. Kabbalas Shabbos: R' Moshe Goldstein.

The davening concluded at around 7:25. The appeal for Kollel Siebenbürgen, may it be rebuilt in Eretz Yisroel, took place. Afterwards the crowd went over to wish a "Gut Shabbos," and the Rebbe shlit"a went home.

At around 8:30 the Rebbe shlit"a entered the Shabbos seudah in the Heichal HaShulchanos together with the talmidei hamesivta, and began, as is his holy custom, "Shalom Aleichem" with feeling and fervor.

Eishes Chayil: the Rebbe's grandson, the bochur Meir Eliezer Teitelbaum, son of HaGaon Rabbi Moshe Teitelbaum, Rav of the beis medrash, shlit"a. The one who held the cup for Kiddush: R' Yudel Steinmetz.

In his Torah address, the Rebbe shlit"a took up the Midrash, "At the moment when Israel said 'We will do and we will hear,' Hashem immediately said, 'Let them take Me a terumah,'" and explained that the Creator awakens Jewish children to teshuva, but even if one is not awakened immediately, the teshuva is also accepted through the power of Shabbos observance, which is the proof that Jews are children of the Omnipresent, and regarding a child the question of "If I am the king, why until now have you not come to me?" does not apply. One must use this week, the final extension of the days of Shovavim, for teshuva out of joy and love.
