Thursday, Parshas Mishpatim — 'B'tzeil HaKodesh' with the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a

The Rebbe shlit"a davened Shacharis in the Talmud Torah building on Rutledge Street together with the students of the ninth grade, on the occasion of the simcha of the first laying of tefillin by his grandson, the son of the Rav of the Yishmach Moshe beis medrash, HaGaon Rabbi shlit"a. Before davening, the Rebbe shlit"a laid tefillin for his grandson, the bar mitzvah boy Binyamin Chaim Meisels, and afterwards turned out the windings of the arm tefillin.

The Rebbe also laid tefillin for the following bar mitzvah bochurim:
The bochur Yosef Shlomo Markowitz.
The bochur Yoel Eckstein.

During the Torah reading, the Rebbe's grandson, the bar mitzvah boy, was called up as the third aliyah, and the Rebbe went up for Hagbah.

After davening, a lechayim was held, at which one of the talmud torah bochurim recited rhymes in honor of the simcha, after which the bar mitzvah bochur said the pshetl and everyone broke into song. The Rebbe drank lechayim, bestowed holy blessings upon the bar mitzvah bochur and all the bochurim, and then delivered holy words.

In the afternoon at 5:45, the Rebbe davened Mincha in his holy home.

In the evening at around 8:00, a lechayim was held in the Tenaim Hall in his holy home together with the students of the yeshiva gedola, fourth shiur, on the occasion of the upcoming trip to the holy places next week. The roshei yeshiva shlit"a presented the Rebbe with the itinerary of the trip. The Rebbe delivered words of guidance and preparation to the bochurim and spoke about how one should travel to the holy places: to travel with seriousness and not, chas v'shalom, like a tourist, and to accept good resolutions, etc. He concluded with words of blessing to the bochurim, then distributed shlichus mitzvah money, and davened Maariv with the bochurim.

Entry to the Rebbe's room was until 10:45. During the entry hours, a lechayim was held on the occasion of the engagement of the kallah, the daughter of R' Yoel Weider, to the chassan, the bochur Mendel Dov Weider, at which the Rebbe shlit"a warmly bestowed holy blessings upon the mechutanim.
