Part 2, Parshas Beshalach — 'B'tzeil HaKodesh' with the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a in the resort town of Palm Springs, California
Wednesday
At around 8:30 the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a entered for Shacharis in the local beis medrash. After davening, a lechayim was held in honor of the simcha of the bris milah of the Rebbe's great-grandson, born to his grandson Rabbi Meshulam Zushe Rosenbaum shlit"a, son-in-law of HaGaon Rabbi Chaim Dov Ber shlit"a, Rav of the Even Tzedek beis medrash. The Rebbe drank lechayim and bestowed his holy blessings upon the entire assembly.
Afterwards the Rebbe walked home, during which a beautiful conversation was held about stories of the Baal HaTanya and his descendants up to the Maharayatz, whose yahrzeit fell that day, and about the differences in the stringencies and methods of how a mikvah is certified as kosher.
In the late morning hours, at around 11:15, the Rebbe went for a walk amid the green pastures, where wonderful conversations were held in words of Torah and stories of tzaddikim. Among other topics, the Rebbe spoke about the avodah of the Baal Shem Tov and his disciples in traveling about and uplifting simple Jews toward Yiddishkeit, and about the minhag of naming a child after parents and rebbes.
In the evening at 5:30 the Rebbe entered for Mincha. Between Mincha and Maariv the Rebbe engaged in Torah study at his place in the beis medrash, and at the time of Rabbeinu Tam Maariv was davened.
