Part 1, Parshas Beshalach, 'B'tzeil HaKodesh' with the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a in the resort city of Palm Springs, California

At about 9:15, the Rebbe shlit"a arrived for Shacharis at the local beis medrash. After davening, the young boy, the bochur Elchanan Shlomo Zalman Rosenzweig of Monsey, repeated before the Rebbe the Torah of the Rebbe shlit"a from Leil Shabbos on Shlach. The Rebbe shlit"a listened with great nachas. The Rebbe also looked over the fresh set of sefarim Eitz HaTemarim that was donated to the local beis medrash by the committee for publishing the Rebbe's sefarim. The Rebbe looked into the sefarim for an extended time and showed nachas. Afterward, the Rebbe walked back, during which a beautiful conversation took place about several personal accounts and stories and the Rebbe shlit"a's close connection to the Divrei Yoel zt"l.

In the evening at 5:30, the Rebbe arrived for Mincha. Between Mincha and Maariv, the Rebbe learned Torah at his place in the beis medrash, and at the time of Rabbeinu Tam they davened Maariv.
