Shabbos Kodesh Parshas Bo, 6 Shevat, the yahrzeit of the holy Gaon, the Baal Eitz Chaim zy"a — "B'tzeil HaKodesh" with the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a, in the resort city of Palm Springs, California.

Friday afternoon at approximately 3:40, at the visible sunset, the Rebbe shlit"a refrained from work, as is his custom.

At approximately 5:40 the Rebbe shlit"a entered the local beis medrash wrapped in his tallis and went up to daven Mincha. He then continued to daven before the amud for Kabbalas Shabbos on the occasion of the holy hilula. At Mizmor L'Dovid Havu LaHashem, the verses were recited one by one as is customary, and after Aleinu the Rebbe said Kaddish.

Davening concluded at approximately 7:10. After davening the mispallelim went over to wish each other a good Shabbos, and the Rebbe shlit"a walked back to his holy residence.

At the tish in his holy residence, which opened at approximately 9:20, the Rebbe shlit"a honored the participants with leading the zemiros. Kiddush: HaGaon Rabbi Avrohom Dovid Wagschal shlit"a (Monsey). Menucha V'Simcha: R' Moshe Baruch Silber (Boro Park).

The Rebbe shlit"a said Torah on the verse "So that My wonders will be multiplied in the land of Egypt," and explained it in the manner of drush in the sugya of "darshinan taama dikra."

After the fruit, bundles were brought in and nigunei simcha were sung on the occasion of the simchas hashalom for the birth of a son to the Rebbe's grandson, Rabbi Meshulam Zusha Rosenbaum shlit"a, son-in-law of the HaGaon HaTzaddik, Rav of Beis Medrash Avnei Tzedek shlit"a, of the Chedvan community.

And on the day of Shabbos Kodesh

On Shabbos Kodesh morning the Rebbe shlit"a entered at 9:35. The Rebbe shlit"a led all the tefillos before the amud, beginning from Pesukei D'Zimra, on the occasion of the holy hilula. Hashem Melech, Hallel HaGadol, Shirah and Hakol Yoducha were recited verse by verse as is customary, and the Rebbe said all the Kaddeishim.

Before the Torah reading, R' Moshe Falkowitz made the appeal to the beis medrash and sold all the aliyos.

The Rebbe's aliyah was purchased by R' Yoel Epstein. After the aliyah, the Rebbe thanked him and instructed that a Mi Sheberach be made. The Rebbe also instructed that a Mi Sheberach be made for his grandson, Rabbi Meshulam Zusha Rosenbaum shlit"a, on the birth of his son, mazel tov.
