Monday, Rosh Chodesh Shevat: 'B'tzeil HaKodesh' with the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a
At around 8:30 the Rebbe shlit"a entered the local beis medrash for Shacharis. The Rebbe shlit"a approached the amud for Hallel. During the Torah reading the following were honored. Petucha: R' Naftali Hirtzka Friedman; Kohen: R' Shmuel Moshe Friedman; Shlishi: the philanthropist R' Berel Weiss (Los Angeles); Revi'i: the Rebbe shlit"a; Hagbah: Rabbi Avrohom Dovid Wagschal shlit"a; Gelilah: R' Yisroel Neiman. For Mussaf, HaGaon HaTzaddik, the Av Beis Din of Hibnov, shlit"a, was honored.
After davening the Rebbe walked home, during which a fine conversation took place about the growing of an esrog tree and the halachic aspects thereof. The Rebbe pointed out the details to the Teitelbaums who were accompanying him home along the way.
In his holy residence the Rebbe shlit"a washed for the Rosh Chodesh seudah in private.
In the morning hours, at around 12:00, the Rebbe went for a walk in Neot Desha, during which lovely conversations took place on Torah thoughts and stories of tzaddikim, especially about HaGaon HaKadosh the Maharam Schick zt"l, whose yahrzeit fell on that day.
In the evening at 5:30 the Rebbe entered for Mincha. Between Mincha and Maariv the Rebbe studied Torah at his place in the beis medrash, and at the time of Rabbeinu Tam Maariv was davened.
