Sunday, Parshas Va'eira, 'B'tzeil HaKodesh' with the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a

The Rebbe shlit"a davened Shacharis in our Great Beis Medrash in Kiryas Joel. Before davening, the Rebbe shlit"a put tefillin on the following bar mitzvah bochurim:
The bochur Chaim HaKohen Kahn.
The bochur Yosef Leib HaKohen Sander.
After davening a lechayim was held with the bar mitzvah bochurim in his private room.

In the afternoon hours the Rebbe shlit"a went on his weekly visit to the glatt kosher slaughterhouse.

At around 4:00 in the afternoon the Rebbe shlit"a davened Mincha at his holy home. After Mincha the Rebbe shlit"a went up to the Heichal HaYeshiva, Kedushas Yoel branch, where the Rebbe learned with a chavrusa from among the talmidim of the yeshiva in his private room. At 6:00 the Rebbe davened Maariv in the Heichal HaYeshiva, and after Maariv the Rebbe shlit"a was escorted out with song and music, "For He will command His angels for you."

The departure of a tzaddik from a place makes an impression

At around 7:15 in the evening the Rebbe shlit"a left his holy home in Kiryas Joel on the way to Westchester Airport, from where the Rebbe flew on a private plane to Palm Springs, California, where the Rebbe will stay for rest and recuperation for the coming 3 weeks.

Upon arriving at the airport at 8:30 at night, the Rebbe shlit"a greeted his longtime chavrusa, the Av Beis Din of Rosh Chochmah, Montreal shlit"a, and spent a short while with him.

For He will command His angels for you, to guard you in all your ways

At around 9:05 the Rebbe's private plane took off b'sha'a tova u'm'tzlachas. During the first hours on the plane, the Rebbe shlit"a engaged in Torah study together with his chavrusa HaGaon R' Yaakov Ely shlit"a for an extended period. Afterward the Rebbe wrote chiddushei Torah and spent time with stories of tzaddikim and related historical accounts from the old country.

Those who hope in Hashem will renew their strength; they will soar on wings like eagles

At around 11:53 at night, local time, the Rebbe's private plane landed at a nearby airport of the resort city of Palm Springs.

From the airport the Rebbe shlit"a traveled directly to his holy residence, the annual lodging at the home of the distinguished philanthropist R' Hershel Spitz.

When the tzaddik is in the city, he is its splendor, its glow, and its majesty
