Thursday, Parshas Vayechi — 'B'tzeil HaKodesh' with the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a
This morning, before Shacharis davening, the bris of the newborn son of R' Yosha Hersh Greenfeld took place, at which the Rebbe shlit"a was honored with the roles of sandek and mohel.
The Rebbe shlit"a davened Shacharis in our great beis medrash in Kiryas Joel. Before davening, the Rebbe shlit"a put tefillin on the bar mitzvah bochur, the bochur Yoel Halevi Moskowitz. During the Torah reading, the Rebbe was called up for Shlishi. After davening, a lechayim gathering was held with the bar mitzvah bochurim in his private room.
In the afternoon, at around 3:40, the Rebbe shlit"a arrived at his holy home at the Ohel in Kiryas Joel. At around 5:00 the Rebbe davened Mincha, and at the proper time davened Maariv in his holy home.
After Maariv, the Spinka Rebbe of Beis Yitzchak shlit"a came for a visit to the Rebbe shlit"a in his inner chamber, to invite the Rebbe shlit"a to the wedding simcha of his grandson, which took place last night in Kiryas Joel. A pleasant conversation ensued, and the Rebbe blessed him with holy blessings, as well as the mechutanim and family members.
In the evening, the Rebbe shlit"a officiated at the kiddushin at the chuppah of the mechutanim R' Eliezer Zusman Roth - R' Yeshaya Shabsi Brach, at Kinor David Hall.
Afterwards, the Rebbe arrived at the halls of Beis Rochel Paradise for the wedding simcha of the grandson of the Spinka Rebbe of Beis Yitzchak shlit"a, the chassan, the grandson of HaGaon Rabbi Baruch Horowitz shlit"a and son-in-law of the Litchik Rebbe shlit"a, with the kallah, the daughter of Rabbi Isaac Kahana shlit"a, son of the Spinka Rebbe of Kiryas Joel zt"l. The Rebbe shlit"a officiated at the kiddushin, and after the chuppah broke into a dance with the chassan's mechutanim and grandfather, and then gave holy blessings.
"And all the people of the city gathered to him"
In the evening took place - as already reported extensively yesterday - the historic city-wide assembly of Kiryas Joel and the surrounding areas, at which the spiritual foundations laid down by the founder of the city, the Divrei Yoel zt"l, were reaffirmed. An unbelievably majestic scene unfolded as many thousands of residents of Kiryas Joel and the surrounding areas, old and young, with a fervent spirit filled the enormous great beis medrash with all its wings and galleries, and gathered together as one to hear the word of Hashem, the holy words and the call of the hour from the holy Rav of the city, the Rebbe shlit"a.
At around 8:10 the chairman of the gathering, HaGaon Rabbi Simcha Sholom Steinberg shlit"a, Rav of Beis Medrash Divrei Chaim and one of the choicest talmidim of the Divrei Yoel zt"l, opened the gathering. Afterwards the HaGaon HaGadol, Av Beis Din of the city shlit"a, delivered the word of Hashem, "this is the halacha," on the foundations that the Divrei Yoel zt"l established for the city, which is led by his successor and the holy Rav of the city, the Rebbe shlit"a. At around 8:50, in the middle of the address, the thousands of residents welcomed the holy presence of the Rebbe shlit"a. After the dayan's address, the maggid meisharim HaRav R' Yechezkel Weiss shlit"a spoke with a splendid address.
At around 9:35 the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a began his fervent holy words, and after the address, at around 10:40, HaGaon Rabbi Simcha Sholom Steinberg shlit"a, Rav of Beis Medrash Divrei Chaim, proclaimed the 23 city regulations that are binding on all residents of Kiryas Joel and the surrounding areas.
With a fervent spirit of "They accepted it again with love and willingness," the crowd dispersed from the holy assembly, which is now the talk of the day throughout the entire chareidi world.
