This afternoon, the assembly of the rabbanim and dayanim of Kiryas Joel and surrounding areas took place in the holy home of the Mara D'Asra Kadisha, the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a, in preparation for the grand Citywide Assembly of Kiryas Joel and Surrounding Areas tonight in the halls of the great beis medrash of Kiryas Joel.

First, the Rebbe shlit"a delivered a address on the matter and the obligation of the hour, regarding the state of Yiddishkeit around the world and especially in the city of Kiryas Joel, and regarding the strong and faithful foundations that the Rebbe zt"l wished to establish with the founding of the holy city.
After the address, HaGaon Rabbi Shlomo Zevel shlit"a, moreh tzedek of the Beis Dov beis medrash in the Lemberg neighborhood, read with great solemnity the 23 city takanos that bind every resident of Kiryas Joel and its surroundings.

At the end, the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a signed the document of takanos with his holy hand, and then honored the HaGaon HaGadol, the dayan and moreh tzedek of the city shlit"a, to sign it.

Now thousands of residents of the city and surrounding areas are preparing for the citywide assembly in the halls of the great beis medrash in Kiryas Joel.
