The Night of the Second Night of Chanukah 'B'tzeil HaKodesh' with the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a

At the time of Rabbeinu Tam, the Rebbe shlit"a davened Maariv in his holy home. Before Maariv, the bochur Wolf, son of R' Berel Stein, lit the menorah.

"These lights are holy"

At around 9:10, the Rebbe shlit"a entered the great beis medrash in Kiryas Joel for the lighting of the Chanukah lights, amid a large crowd and with royal splendor. The Rebbe shlit"a poured in the oil and recited the brachos with holy fire.

Afterwards, the Rebbe recited the zemiros and stirring melodies were sung. Then the choir sang the piyutim as is customary.

Afterwards, the Rebbe shlit"a delivered holy words of Torah, with pilpul and discourse on the sugya in Maseches Shabbos of "kibsah zekuk lah." He then continued in the way of aggadah, that the second light draws down mercy. He also spoke about going to seek money during the days of Chanukah, relating a story about his grandfather, the holy Gaon, the Yitev Lev zy"a. He concluded with his holy blessings that great mercy be bestowed upon Jewish children.

After the holy words, they continued singing melodies. Afterwards, the Rebbe drank a lechayim and gave his holy blessings. It concluded at around 10:35.
