After the appeal, the crowd went over to wish a "Gut Shabbos," and the Rebbe shlit"a went home to his holy residence.
At around 8:30 the Rebbe shlit"a entered the Friday night seudah in the Heichal HaShulchanos together with the talmidim of the mesivta, and, as is his holy custom, began "Shalom Aleichem" with fiery enthusiasm.

In his Torah, the Rebbe shlit"a spoke on the verse "Vayishma Reuven vayatzileihu miyadam," and explained that the preparation for a mitzvah is just like the mitzvah itself. Through the merit that the Jews created on Erev Chanukah, "Ufinu es heichalecha v'tiharu es mikdashecha," they merited the miracle of victory in the war. He said that regarding Chanukah, one must prepare to fulfill the holy mitzvah that shines and illuminates into Jewish children, a bright light in the heavens, bringing down good blessings in both the physical and the spiritual.
