Thursday, Parshas Vayeishev — 21 Kislev — 'B'tzeil HaKodesh' with the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a

Early in the morning, before Shacharis, the bris of the newborn son of R' Avrohom Klein took place, at which the Rebbe shlit"a was honored with sandek.

The Rebbe shlit"a davened Shacharis in the Heichal HaMesivta of the "Sniff Beirach Moshe." Before davening, the Rebbe shlit"a put tefillin on the following bar mitzvah bochurim:
The bochur Lipa Friedman.
The bochur Yechiel Menashe Gottlieb.
The bochur Lipa Wolhenberg.

After davening, the Rebbe shlit"a learned the daily Tehillim shiur, chapter 8, verse 4, at which the Rebbe shlit"a spoke about the miracle of the salvation of the Holy Rebbe, the Divrei Yoel zt"l. Afterwards a lechayim gathering was held with the bar mitzvah bochurim in his private room.

In the afternoon at around 4:45 the Rebbe davened Mincha in his holy home.

"The kindnesses of Hashem, that we are not consumed, for His mercies have not ended"

At around 5:30 the Rebbe shlit"a arrived at the Seudas Hodaah gathering of 21 Kislev in the Heichal HaMesivta of the Baal HaNes zy"a, at the Sniff Beirach Moshe, together with the talmidim of all the branches, and the Rebbe shlit"a danced for several minutes in honor of the day.

Then the chairman of the gathering, HaGaon R' Hillel Rabinowitz shlit"a, mashgiach at the Sniff V'Yoel Moshe, took the podium. In the middle, the guest speaker, the elder R' Yechezkel David Halberstam shlit"a, a fourth-generation descendant of the holy Divrei Chaim zy"a, arrived. The Rebbe shlit"a stood up and greeted him. Then R' Yechezkel David shlit"a spoke at length, recounting memories of the Holy Rebbe zy"a and of his Sanzer forebears zt"l, as he grew up for several years before the war.

Then the Rebbe shlit"a drank a lechayim and wished the rabbeim and the talmidim well, and then delivered holy words. First, the Rebbe greeted the distinguished guest, a descendant generation after generation of the holy Sanzer Rav zy"a, and blessed him that he should live to see Moshiach. Then the Rebbe spoke about the tremendous hakaras hatov that every bochur must have toward Hashem for leaving us, as a surviving remnant, the Holy Rebbe zy"a, without whom we would have nothing to this day. He cited the holy Ruzhiner zy"a that "the son of David comes only in a generation that is entirely culpable" means that one feels hakaras hatov toward Hashem, and said that the year 5 (chai"v) is an acronym of "Yoel ben Chananya, 21 (Yud-Tes)." Then the Rebbe spoke about the tremendous devotion of the Holy Rebbe zy"a to every single bochur, truly like his own father, and concluded that every bochur must take responsibility to conduct himself as a talmid of the Rebbe z"l, as befits a Satmar talmid, and finished with his holy blessings.

After the holy words, the singing and music continued, and it ended at around 6:30.

At around 8:30 the Rebbe shlit"a went to the new home of R' Eliezer Hartman in the Woodbury Junction neighborhood on the outskirts of Kiryas Joel, who had purchased a merit of a gate in one of the mosdos buildings in Kiryas Joel. The Rebbe shlit"a affixed the mezuzah, then drank a lechayim, signed the documents with the donor, and gave his holy blessings.

Also present was HaGaon R' Shlomo Yosef Yozefovitz shlit"a, the rav of the neighborhood. The Rebbe shlit"a inquired about the further plans to expand the neighborhood, and gave his holy blessings.

In the evening there were entry times to the inner room from 8:45 until 1:00.

The Rebbe shlit"a read the tenaim at the tenaim in his holy home, for the mechutanim R' Lipa Halpert and R' Hersh Elimelech Klein.

At around 11:35 the Rebbe shlit"a davened Maariv in his holy home, and continued receiving the public.
