Report of the holy journey "Veshavti" by the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a to the city of the Avos, Sighet.

A prayer of Moshe, the man of Hashem

Sunday, Parshas Vayeira - Uhel, Hungary 'B'tzeil HaKodesh' with the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a

At around 9:55 in the morning, the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a arrived in the city of Uhel, Hungary, the resting place of the head of the holy chain of generations, Rabbi Moshe, the man of G-d, the Yismach Moshe zy"a, where hundreds of fresh guests from Europe and Eretz Yisroel awaited the Rebbe shlit"a.

Upon arrival, the Rebbe shlit"a went to the mikvah and afterwards davened Shacharis in the beis medrash building adjacent to the holy tziyun. The baal tefillah was HaGaon R' Berel Glantz shlit"a of Bardiov, Kiryas Joel.

"The place upon which you stand is holy ground"

After davening, at around 12:30, the Rebbe shlit"a, together with the entire gathering, went up to the holy ohel in our kehilla's cemetery to visit the holy tziyun with great hisorerus.

Upon arrival, the Rebbe first lit 5 candles along with a ner neshama, and then the Rebbe began the tefillah of Shalom Aleichem Rebbi U'Mori, with awe-inspiring weeping, for several long minutes. He then recited the prayer before saying Tehillim attributed to the Yismach Moshe zt"l.

The Rebbe shlit"a recited Tehillim, from chapter 90 through 107, as is customary. Afterwards the Rebbe shlit"a recited the Yehi Ratzon with heartfelt participation, and said Kaddish.

Then the Rebbe shlit"a read the kvitelach while melodies of hisorerus were sung. Afterwards the Rebbe put down all the kvitelach and prostrated himself upon the holy tziyun with awe-inspiring weeping for several long minutes.

"The stone that the builders rejected has become the cornerstone"

Immediately after visiting the holy tziyun, the emotional cornerstone-laying ceremony took place for the new large building, "the Heichal Beis Medrash - large mikvah - and guest rooms," which will be built adjacent to the holy tziyun of Rabbi Moshe, the man of G-d, the Yismach Moshe zy"a, in the city of Uhel, by the "Va'ad HaTziyun HaKadosh" under the auspices of our kehilla's Chevra Kadisha. It is an addition to the existing renovated building, which can no longer contain the crowds.

The Rebbe shlit"a arrived at the ceremony, and the singers sang melodies in honor of the occasion. Afterwards the Rebbe shlit"a delivered words of kodesh. The Rebbe spoke with great emotion about what had taken place in the city of Uhel, who had served as rav there, and said that Moshe Rabbeinu too was in Uhel, since the Yismach Moshe zy"a said at Hakafos, "Welcome, Moshe Rabbeinu." He expressed the feelings of his heart, coming from the chanukas habayis ceremony in Sighet, "the place where my forefathers prayed," to a cornerstone-laying ceremony, "the place where my forefathers prayed," in the city of Uhel, now that a beis medrash is about to be built on the place where the holy grandfathers were, a place where prayers are received. He concluded with his holy blessings, especially to R' Avrohom Yoshe HaKohen Glantz, builder and founder in the city of Uhel.

Afterwards the Rebbe shlit"a poured the foundations into the special bricks on the platform, and then honored the Rabbonim: HaGaonim, the Av Beis Din of our kehilla in Monsey, the Av Beis Din of our kehilla in London, the sons and sons-in-law of the Rebbe, and the builders of the building, to pour as well. Then everyone broke out in a joyous dance, "Borei Olam B'kinyan" and "Oisgepoelt Alles Gutes."

After the ceremony the Rebbe shlit"a went over to the guesthouse, where the hundreds of chassidim from Europe and Eretz Yisroel entered the inner chamber to greet him.

Afterwards the Rebbe went to the mayor of the city of Uhel, accompanied by the local government officials, where the Rebbe shlit"a thanked them for their help with our kehilla's cemetery and the buildings adjacent to the holy tziyun.

At around 3:00 the Rebbe shlit"a davened Mincha in the Heichal beis medrash. The baal tefillah was HaGaon R' Lipa Yoel Fischer shlit"a. After Mincha, the group set out for the airport in Budapest.

Upon arrival at the airport at 5:45 in the afternoon, the Rebbe shlit"a met a group of grandchildren of the holy Rebbe Asher of Czenger zy"a, who had come to visit the tziyun ahead of the yahrzeit. A pleasant conversation ensued about the holy Rebbe Asher and his children.

Afterwards the Rebbe shlit"a entered a private room, where the Rebbe engaged in Torah study until boarding the plane.

At around 7:25 the Rebbe shlit"a boarded the plane, where the entire gathering awaited the Rebbe.
"For He will command His angels for you, to guard you in all your ways"

At around 7:42, b'siyata d'Shmaya, the plane took off on the way home from the holy journey, and I will return.

On the flight home, the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a spent over 4 hours with the kehilla leaders, relating old memories and stories of tzadikim.

The Rebbe shlit"a davened Maariv on the plane. The baal tefillah was HaGaon R' Lipa Yoel Fischer shlit"a. Afterwards the Rebbe learned Torah for several hours in Maseches Bava Kamma.

During the hours on the plane, HaGaon HaTzaddik R' Meir Zwibel shlit"a, mashpia ruchni in the Beis Medrash Binyan Brach, and HaGaon HaTzaddik R' Naftali Hirtzka Zwibel shlit"a, Rosh Kollel, spoke. R' Yoshe Mendlowitz also taught new melodies.

"Blessed is he who comes in the name of Hashem"

At around 11:05, b'siyata d'Shmaya, the plane landed at Newark Airport. At around 12:33 the Rebbe shlit"a arrived at his holy residence in Kiryas Joel.

May the merit of the forefathers protect us, and fulfill our requests in good measure, with salvation and mercy
