Shabbos Kodesh Parshas Bereishis, "B'tzeil HaKodesh" with the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a, at an aufruf in the guest house at the home of the Rabbani, the philanthropist R' Yechezkel Dovid Berkowitz, in the Kiryas Joel area.

The Rebbe shlit"a spent the entire Shabbos Kodesh in a private setting, l'menuchas hanefesh, where only a select few close chassidim and invited dignitaries davened together.

On Friday night at around 7:00, the Rebbe shlit"a entered the beis medrash in the guest house wrapped in his tallis. Kabbalas Shabbos: HaRav HaChosid R' Shlomo Zalman Horowitz.

The davening concluded at around 8:45, and the Rebbe shlit"a wished a good Shabbos to the participants.

At around 9:45, the Rebbe shlit"a entered the seudah in the guest house, where only the house bochur and R' Naftali Hirtzka Stein ate along, and began, in his holy custom, "Sholom Aleichem" with fiery passion.

During the seudah, there were longer conversations about matters of Jewish customs and earlier generations, and afterwards the Rebbe shlit"a shared divrei Torah on the weekly parsha.

The Rebbe shlit"a sang Kah Echsof and honored R' Naftali Hirtzka Stein with leading bentching.

After the fruit, they sang "Ki Bayom HaShevi'i," and the seudah concluded at around 12:30.

And on the holy Shabbos day

On Shabbos morning, the Rebbe learned for several hours before davening on the terrace of the guest house.

The Rebbe shlit"a entered for Shacharis at 10:00 and recited the berachos. Pesukei D'zimra: HaRav HaChosid R' Avrohom Leib Landau; Shacharis: HaRav HaChosid R' Yaakov Yechezkel Gandel. Hashem Melech, Hallel HaGadol, Shirah, and Nishmas Kol Chai were said verse by verse.

In his Torah, the Rebbe shlit"a focused on the verse "Bereishis bara Elokim" — "Beis Rabbasi," and explained that with mesirus nefesh in Eretz Yisroel, one need not come to the four categories of atonement, and in the sukkah there is the holiness of Eretz Yisroel, so one need not come to suffering.
