The Holy Table of Ne'ilas HaChag – Gathering of Blessings

At around 9:30 the Rebbe shlit"a entered the beis medrash for the Ne'ilas HaChag tish.

Upon entering, the Rebbe went out in a festive dance onto the floor and continued the seudah; Yom Tov foods and cabbage were brought in.

Yom Tov melodies were sung, as well as melodies of the holy Kedushas Levi, whose yahrzeit falls the day after Isru Chag, led by Rabbi R' Hershel Kohn shlit"a.

The Rebbe honored R' Dovid Neustadt (of Monsey) with the zemiros. The Rebbe blessed over the cup, recited "Baruch HaMavdil," and the Divrei Torah were broadcast over a microphone.

The Torah was on the verse "And Moshe declared the appointed times of Hashem to the Children of Israel": Shemini Atzeres is a Yom Tov of the future, because then every day will be a Yom Tov on which work is forbidden.

Shemini Atzeres is observed according to the custom of our fathers, even though it is not written in the Shulchan Aruch, with the entire order of the day and night that the grandfather, the Yetev Lev zy"a, instituted. Therefore he surely comes down and blesses all Jews who conduct themselves according to his custom, with the threefold blessing of the Torah, and the Rebbe concluded with his holy blessings.

Afterwards the Rebbe learned the Gemaras of the Bavli and Yerushalmi in Maseches Berachos and explained beautiful hints and ideas interwoven with stories of tzaddikim. He especially brought out the feelings of the Yom Tov in the midst of the assembled congregation, with an inner joy, all of them only honest Jews, chassidim and men of deed, with beards and peyos.

When rising from the tish, the Rebbe wished, "A good week and a healthy winter."

Maariv for Motzei Yom Tov: R' Shlomo Zalman Stein, a shamash of the Rebbe.

After Maariv the Rebbe made Havdalah and came out, in the presence of thousands upon thousands of Jews, to the gathering of blessings of the holy for all the assembled people, both in the Ezras Yisroel and the Ezras Nashim. It ended at around 11:45.

And Yom Tov was accompanied, as it departed in peace from the holy, with dancing and circles of joy, unable to part from the exalted Yom Tov. May it be His will that we have accomplished all good. Fortunate is the people for whom this is so; fortunate is the people whose God is Hashem.
