Report
At around 1:45, the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a entered the beis medrash wrapped in the tallis, kappel and kittel of the Divrei Yoel zt"l, with a white kaftan beneath the kittel. The Rebbe shlit"a went up to the Aron Kodesh and recited a silent prayer, then began the inspiring shofar-blowing derasha on the verse "Ashrei ha'am yodei teruah," explaining that in truth the damage caused by a sin is without measure or limit, but Hashem, in His abundant mercy, judges according to the damage through the trials in this world. This applies only to Jews who believe in Hashem's providence over "the lower realms" and conduct themselves with humility and lowliness of spirit. By contrast, the nations of the world say that it is beneath His dignity to look at the lower realms, and for them repentance does not help. But we must check ourselves that we are not, chas v'shalom, caught among those who say that the terrible events of the past years were a coincidence, "All who come into the world pass before You like sheep," that we remember what took place at the holy site of Meron, and they say it was a coincidence because there were many people there, and the same about other events, "chas v'shalom to say so," but rather this was from Heaven, to awaken us and call us to do teshuva. After the derasha the Rebbe shlit"a recited Kaddish D'Rabbanan; it concluded at around 2:10.

Afterwards the Rebbe shlit"a went up to the bimah. The Sifrei Torah were held by HaGaon R' Asher Yeshaya Feuerstein shlit"a and R' Aharon Spitzer.

Before making the berachos, the Rebbe shlit"a put on a new garment, a shawl. The Rebbe shlit"a made the berachos with fiery holiness and blew the Tekias D'meyushav. The baal koreh was the Hagaon Hatzaddik, the Av Beis Din, shlit"a.

The Rebbe approached the amud for Musaf, reciting "Hineni he'ani mimaas." Kaddish was at 2:35.

The prayers were filled with holy emotion, with a voice like a flaming fire, which stirred the entire sanctuary of the beis medrash.

The honors of Pesichos at Musaf were given to R' Avrohom Shalom Landau, R' Mordechai Landau, R' Avrohom Wieder, R' Yaakov Mittelman and R' Dovid Shmuel Goldberger.

R' Yitzchok Ehrenfeld approached for Kavei. The opening for Ane'im Zemiros was given to R' Meir Dovid Massri (may he be well and have long years).

Immediately after Musaf, Mincha was davened. Davening before the amud was HaRav HaTzaddik R' Chaim Binyomin Kahana shlit"a of Spinka, Kiryas Joel. It concluded at around 6:25.

For the afternoon meal, the Rebbe shlit"a washed in his holy home. At around 8:05 the Rebbe shlit"a entered the beis medrash hagadol for the shulchan aruch tish.

Kugel and sweet carrots were brought in. The Rebbe shlit"a drank lechayim and wished, "A good, blessed year in all matters," and the Yamim Noraim melodies were sung.

The Rebbe shlit"a honored HaGaon Rabbi Meir Eliezer Friedman shlit"a with the Zemiros.

The Rebbe shlit"a said Torah on the verse "Tiku bachodesh shofar bakeseh leyom chageinu, ki chok l'Yisroel hu mishpat l'Elokei Yaakov," explaining that "chok" refers to "lishnei d'mezonei," that the shofar brings down parnassah, "Alah Elokim biteruah, Hashem b'kol shofar." The two names Elokim and the name Havaya have the same numerical value as the name Yevak, which is also the numerical value of money. The Rebbe shlit"a told a story about the Rebbe of Lublin zy"a, who with his shofar blowing brought down a great abundance of parnassah, and he blessed that a year of great abundance and many blessings should come.

The Rebbe shlit"a recited the blessing over the cup. Maariv for Motzei Yom Tov: R' Chaim Yaakov Gutman.

The Rebbe shlit"a made Havdalah, and upon rising he wished, "A good week, a good year." It concluded at 9:10.

Ashrei ha'am shekachah lo, ashrei ha'am sheHashem Elokav

May it be Hashem's will that all good be accomplished, that the prayers be accepted with mercy and favor, and that we merit a year of redemption and salvation.
