Report
Continued report from Shabbos Kodesh Parshas Ki Savo, "B'tzeil HaKodesh" with the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a

Raava d'Raavin

The Rebbe shlit"a entered for Mincha and Shalosh Seudos at 8:05. Mincha: R' Chaim Shmuel Spielman; Hotzaah and Hachnasah: R' Yaakov ben Yechezkel Schreiber (London); Kohen: HaGaon Rabbi Avrohom Simcha Friedman shlit"a; Levi: R' Dovid Berish Wertzberger; Shlishi: R' Aharon Moshe Schwartz (Montreal); Hagbah: the Rebbe shlit"a; Gelilah: Rabbi Shlomo Zalman Horowitz, son of the Av Beis Din of Manchester.

At Shalosh Seudos, the Rebbe shlit"a gave out the honors for the zemiros. Odeh: R' Shlomo Hersh, son of R' Eckstein; Shir HaMaalos: R' Moshe Goldstein.

In the Torah, the Rebbe shlit"a began with the verse "And you shall take from the first of all the fruit of the ground," and explained in the way of mussar that the darshanim of reshumos say that the initial letters have the numerical value of "mikveh." This may be understood according to what the Rebbe zy"a says in Berach Moshe: "Mikveh Yisroel, the hope of the Jewish people, is Hashem, the middot of Hashem," and just as the middot of Hashem are endless, so too teshuva and forgiveness are endless. That is why we rise for Selichos right after Shabbos, "at the close of the rest," because Shabbos is the Name of the Holy One, Blessed Be He, and when one keeps Shabbos properly, the Name Havaya rests upon a person, "and the Name of Hashem shall be seen upon you," and one merits the middot of Hashem, so that there is endless forgiveness. The Rebbe then continued at greater length with words of arousal, with awesome weeping, in preparation for the Days of Selichos. At the end of the discourse, during the holy blessings, the Rebbe concluded in a weeping voice: "Jewish children come to pour out their hearts. Jewish children gather in shuls and batei medrash to daven to the Holy Creator. Jewish children come to plead for all that is good. Jewish children are broken. Such broken hearts come to the beis medrash. 'The heart knows its own bitterness.' Every person knows his own bitter burden, his own bitter troubles. Hashem 'hears the song and the prayer.' Hashem listens to every person's prayer, to every person's request. The requests of Jewish children are very many, with very heavy hearts. They pour themselves out before Hashem, this one weeps and that one weeps. It has been a difficult year for all of Klal Yisroel. 'Jewish children are broken like a shattered shard.' We are again privileged to have these holy days, and we must daven to Hashem that Hashem fulfill the requests of Klal Yisroel. Hashem is infinite, His mercy is infinite, Hashem is all-powerful, may He fulfill all the requests of every single Jew, every single Jew who davens and pleads to Hashem. 'You who hear prayer, to You all flesh will come.' Everyone can come to the Creator, everyone can pour out his heart, everyone can daven to Hashem. Hashem 'hears the prayers of every mouth,' of every single Jew in every place. These holy times are coming, and we daven to the Creator. Hashem listens to every single prayer, to every single request. May Hashem help that we merit it. May Hashem fulfill the wishes of our hearts for good. May Hashem fulfill all the requests of Jewish children, may there be 'children, life and ample sustenance.' Jewish children need salvations, Jewish children need cures, Jewish children have many requests. Hashem will help. 'May the year and its curses end, may the year and its blessings begin.' May we merit the raising of the glory of Torah and Yisroel, with the revelation of the glory of Heaven upon us, speedily in our days, Amen."

Yedid Nefesh: R' Aharon Moshe Schwartz shlit"a; Kel Mistateir: R' Menachem Moshe Rettek. The Rebbe shlit"a made the blessing on the cup and recited the Sheva Brachos. Maariv of Motzei Shabbos: R' Hirtzka Kahn. After Havdalah, everyone went over to wish a gutte voch. The proceedings ended at 10:35.
