The Satmar Rebbe shlit"a spoke at length today at the central Sheva Brachos celebration in our holy courts in the great beis medrash in Williamsburg, expressing praise of the kehilla: "It is a pleasure for me when I come to the kehilla here in Williamsburg, a pleasant and chassidic kehilla." He spoke strongly about expanding the boundaries of holiness within the kehilla in the city.

Afterward, the Rebbe recalled many achievements that began in the beis medrash on Hooper Street: "Here on this spot, even before there was a building, when it was still a tent, the group 'Yesodei HaTorah' was founded. There were those at the time who laughed at the whole idea; today no one laughs anymore. All the kehillos have copied it. Who says it openly and who is ashamed to say so? Baruch Hashem, on the contrary, let everyone copy; many good things have been copied. For more than ten years I said here in this place that the wheat is very weak. They shouted me down, saying, 'He is changing the tradition.' They harvested wheat this year not from Long Island. Not because no more wheat grows, but because they are ashamed to admit the truth that Yidden were given weak wheat for years. And most of the matzos of such-and-such bakery now come from California, which neighbors Arizona. I kept silent the whole time because I knew the truth would surface. How long can they bluff? Thank the Holy Creator, I have a share in it. Many good things are first shouted down, and afterward people do them."

He concluded with strong holy blessings to his firstborn son, his beloved and esteemed son, HaGaon HaTzaddik, the Av Beis Din shlit"a, on the occasion of the simcha, and to the mechutanim, grandfathers, chosson, and the entire community.
