For Mincha and Shalosh Seudos, the Rebbe shlit"a entered at 8:25. Mincha: HaRav HaChassid R' Yaakov Chizkiyahu Markowitz; hotzaah and hachnasah: HaRav HaChassid R' Moshe Yuda Hirsch (Vomsabag); baal korei: R' Yehoshua Mendlowitz, member of the Shabbos Kodesh minyan; Kohen: HaGaon Rabbi Aharon Isriel shlit"a, Rosh Hakahal; Levi: HaGaon Rabbi Anshil Gruber shlit"a; Shlishi: HaRav HaChassid R' Moshe Yosef Hartman; hagbah: the Rebbe shlit"a; gelilah: HaRav HaChassid R' Yoel Bramy Wertzberger.

After Mincha, the Rebbe shlit"a went over to the gigantic Heichal HaShulchanos for Shalosh Seudos. At the zemiros of Shalosh Seudos, the Rebbe shlit"a honored the following: Odeh: HaRav HaChassid R' Fish Herzog; Shir HaMaalos: HaGaon Rabbi Asher Shmuel Katz shlit"a, one of the dayanim of our kehilla in Monsey.

In the Torah thought, the Rebbe shlit"a focused on the verse "And Hashem said to you, you shall not continue to return on this path again" ("Vashem amar lachem lo"), the initials of which spell Elul. He explained it in the way of mussar: if one, chas v'shalom, does not do teshuva for his sins, that itself is a sin that must afterward be rectified. We are already a week into the month of Elul, and one must ask oneself: what have I accomplished until now? One must also contemplate the greatness of Hashem and the heavenly mercy, "Chanun HaMarbeh Lislo'ach," that He will accept the teshuva with mercy and favor. At the end of the Torah talk, the Rebbe concluded with blessings of the holy, in a weeping voice: May Hashem help that we merit to do complete teshuva, that all of Klal Yisroel merit "a good inscription and sealing, a well-blessed year." May the year and its curses come to an end. Unfortunately it has been a bitter, difficult year for Jewish children. Jews have gone through such troubles, so much anguish, so many broken hearts among Jewish children. The One and Only Creator knows what is going on in Jewish homes. Jews are broken; Jews are looking out for salvations, for children, life and abundant sustenance. Jewish children need cures, Jewish children need salvations, Jewish children have gone through so many troubles. The Zeide z"l, in Yaitav Panim, says (today is the yahrzeit, "his merit should protect us"): "Yehi hachodesh hazeh" — "hazeh" is the twelfth month, which is the month of Elul — "may this month be the end and finish of all our troubles, the beginning and head of the redemption of our souls." May Hashem help that we merit a year whose beginning and blessings are good, that Jewish children be blessed with every good thing, that we merit all that is good, and that we merit the raising of the glory of Torah and Yisroel with the revelation of the glory of Heaven upon us, speedily in our days, amen.
