=Part 2: Report of Shabbos Kodesh Parshas Shoftim in our holy kehilla in Monsey.=

After davening, the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a went over to the home of R' Avrohom Schreiber for Kiddush. (Correction note: the name is rendered as written below.) The Rebbe shlit"a recited Kiddush and niggunim were sung. HaGaon Rabbi, the Av Beis Din of Nitra-Monsey shlit"a, and HaGaon R' Avrohom Yechezkel Friedman shlit"a, Av Beis Din of Komarno, came to greet the Rebbe. A pleasant conversation unfolded with the rabbis about the expansion of the boundaries of kedusha in Monsey and about Yiddishkeit in the city, where the Rebbe expressed that "a Jew needs to live among Jews." The Rebbe also spoke about Yiddishkeit before the war and today, and expressed that "today more bochurim learn in the yeshivos than learned in all of Europe." Afterwards the Rebbe shlit"a blessed the rabbis, the host and his household.

The afternoon tish took place in the home of the host, R' Moshe Yosef Hartman, where esteemed benefactors and supporters of the mosdos were gathered who had contributed larger sums toward the multi-million-dollar project of building the mighty fortresses for the holy mosdos in Monsey.

HaGaon R' Yaakov Weiss shlit"a spoke, in a question-and-answer format with HaGaon R' Leibish Weinfeld shlit"a, of his memories from years ago in the Sighet yeshiva under the Beirach Moshe zy"a, and the Rebbe shlit"a merited to add from his own words as well, which continued in a pleasant conversation during the seudah. Toward the end of the seudah, HaGaon R' Dovid Yehuda Hirshfeld shlit"a, dayan and moreh tzedek of Munkatch, spoke, welcoming the Rebbe shlit"a and speaking in praise of those who support and uphold the Torah. During the seudah, R' Chaim Shlomo Kraus led the niggunim and zemiros.

HaGaon Rabbi, the Av Beis Din of Tashnad shlit"a, also arrived at the seudah to greet the Rebbe.

During the zemiros the Rebbe shlit"a honored the following: "Baruch Hashem Yom Yom": R' Michael Herzog; "Baruch Kel Elyon": the distinguished philanthropist R' Yisroel Schreiber - of Eretz Yisroel. The Rebbe shlit"a honored the host, R' Moshe Yosef Hartman, with leading Birkas Hamazon. It concluded at 3:30.

In the afternoon at around 6:55 the Rebbe shlit"a entered the beis medrash for "Pirkei Avos." The Rebbe shlit"a focused on Chapter 6, Mishnah 2, "Woe to the people from the insult of the Torah," and explained it in 12 ways, through aggadah, derush and mussar. The Rebbe shlit"a spoke about the power of involvement in Torah and the severity if, chas v'shalom, one disgraces the Torah, and the power of the holy Torah to turn the attributes of judgment into mercy. At the end he urged us to remain among honest Jews and not scatter to the outlying areas, and spoke about reducing expenses at simchas, and about technological devices. He also urged teshuva and rectification of deeds in anticipation of the days of Elul approaching us. It concluded at 8:00.

After Pirkei Avos the Rebbe shlit"a went over to the Heichal HaTorah for the "Tehillim society" of the talmidim, and the Rebbe shlit"a recited with the children chapters 121-122, and afterwards delivered brief holy words about the greatness of saying Tehillim in general, and especially in the month of Elul, and blessed that it be accepted with mercy and favor.
