The Shabbos That Delights the Soul

Shabbos Kodesh, Parshas Shoftim, the yahrzeit of our master and teacher, the holy Gaon, the Yitav Lev zy"a, in the "Tzeil HaKodesh" of his grandson, who continues in his holy path, the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a, in our holy kehilla in Monsey, to strengthen and establish our chassidim, residents of Monsey, and to strengthen the building of mighty fortresses in our holy mosdos in Monsey, which are being built these days for the sake of Hashem's name and glory.

"A truly uplifting Shabbos passed for the chassidim of Satmar in the city of Monsey, experiencing a Shabbos in the holy shadow of the Rebbe."

On Erev Shabbos afternoon at around 6:00, after the mikvah, the Rebbe shlit"a left his holy residence in Kiryas Joel for Monsey. Upon arriving in Monsey, the Rebbe shlit"a first paid a visit to HaGaon HaTzaddik, Av Beis Din and Rosh Mesivta of our Monsey kehilla shlit"a, and then continued to the guest residence in the home of the distinguished philanthropist R' Moshe Yosef Hartman.

Throughout Shabbos, at the tefillos and the tables, the Beis Medrash HaGadol and the gigantic dining hall in the Beis Medrash HaGadol building were filled from end to end, to capacity, with hundreds of chassidim, residents of Monsey, who came to take part in the uplifting Shabbos in the Rebbe's holy presence.

On Friday night at around 8:25 the Rebbe shlit"a entered the beis medrash and approached the amud for Mincha.

After Mincha, HaGaon R' Leibish Weinfeld shlit"a spoke to warm the hearts of the chassidim to acquire merits and support the holy mosdos in Monsey.

Kabbalas Shabbos: HaGaon R' Dovid Shlomo Laub shlit"a, a maggid shiur in our Monsey kehilla. After Maariv the Rebbe shlit"a said Kaddish in honor of the yahrzeit of his grandfather, the Yitav Lev zy"a, and likewise at all the tefillos.

After davening, a huge crowd of Monsey residents, among them rabbanim and dayanim of the city, went over to wish a gut Shabbos and greet the Rebbe shlit"a.

At around 12:00 the Rebbe shlit"a entered the Friday night seudah in the special gigantic dining hall, in the newly purchased Talmud Torah building above the Beis Medrash HaGadol.

Eishes Chayil: the grandson, the bochur Yisroel Dushinsky, son of HaGaon HaTzaddik R' Dovid Dov shlit"a.

Lifting the cup for Kiddush: HaGaon HaTzaddik, Av Beis Din and Rosh Mesivta of Monsey shlit"a.

For the zemiros, the Rebbe shlit"a honored: "Kol Mekadesh": HaGaon HaTzaddik R' Mordechai Bobad shlit"a, Rosh Av Beis Din of Machon LeHoraah; "Menucha V'Simcha": HaGaon HaTzaddik, Av Beis Din of Bertsh shlit"a.

The Rebbe shlit"a said Torah on the verse "Ki yipaleh mimcha davar lamishpat bein dam l'dam" and explained in the manner of drush the topic of the claim of "moda'ah."

Holy stories and accounts: This week the Rebbe shlit"a related stories about the baal hilula, his grandfather, the holy Gaon, the Yitav Lev zy"a. For "Bayom HaShevi'i": HaGaon R' Yaakov Weiss shlit"a, one of the rabbanim of our kehilla in Monsey. The seudah concluded at around 2:10.

On Shabbos morning the Rebbe shlit"a entered at 9:45. Pesukei D'zimra: HaGaon HaTzaddik, Av Beis Din and Rosh Mesivta of Monsey shlit"a. The Rebbe shlit"a approached the amud for Shacharis.

Baal Koreh: R' Avrohom Moshe Gottesman. Aliyos. Kohen: the baal simcha R' Yoel, son of R' Meir, Isseriel; the Rebbe shlit"a made the Mi Shebeirach and gave the name in honor of the birth of his daughter, mazel tov. Levi: HaGaon HaTzaddik, Av Beis Din and Rosh Mesivta of Monsey shlit"a. Shlishi: the distinguished philanthropist R' Dovid Neustadt. Revi'i: the baal simcha R' Yoel Zev Naftali Neiman (Kiryas Joel); the Rebbe shlit"a made the Mi Shebeirach and gave the name in honor of the birth of his daughter, mazel tov.
