Holy words of the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a yesterday at the central hilula seudah of the Divrei Yoel zt"l, "in the beis medrash of the Baal Hilula," in the Great Beis Medrash in Kiryas Joel, in his clear teachings, words of chizuk and mussar, and on matters of current concern.

The Rebbe shlit"a began with the verse "See, I place before you today a blessing," and explained it in the teachings of the Baal Hilula zy"a. He spoke about the holy resting place, which shows that "the Nasi sits among us, the abode of Hashem on earth." He related: "My father z"l once said that in the bitter times of the war, one of the wonders of Hashem was what He did with the uncle z"l zy"a: he was in distress and captivity in the camps, yet the hands of strangers had no power over him, because of the holy resting place, since the Nasi dwells in it on earth. A miracle took place to show that even in the great concealment of the Divine face, when Jews were in such a lowly state, the Divine Presence was still present with Jewish children."

The Rebbe mentioned the holy work of the Rebbe zy"a and enumerated his exaltedness and love of Hashem with devoted self-sacrifice, spreading Torah in holiness and purity, standing firm for the Torah faith to remain intact, arousing the hearts of Israel, raising the glory of Torah and yiras Shamayim, the glory of modesty among women, fencing off all the breaches of the generation, his words of mussar and holy words of rebuke, the war of Hashem against the impurities of Zionism and all its guises, separation from the wicked, and supporting the holy mosdos that do not benefit from the table of Izevel. He likewise aroused, in the ways of mussar, on this great day of the hilula, to strengthen oneself and walk in his ways in everything related to the chinuch of sons and daughters, to engage in tzedakah and kindness, and especially to stand guard over the boundaries of modesty, the gravity of the matter of uncovered hair, immodest sheitels, tight and short garments, and see-through socks. Afterward the Rebbe shlit"a brought out that this applies especially to the residents of Kiryas Joel, "where his portion, the lawgiver, is hidden, and he watches over the entire city with a favorable eye, even more so." We must tell the Jews here: be careful with the coals of tzaddikim, so that you do not get burned!! The Rebbe spoke with words of mussar about those who settle in the areas surrounding Kiryas Joel, where a tremendous decline is seen in them and in a number of matters.

Afterward the Rebbe shlit"a spoke at length about the gravity of not keeping "Rabbeinu Tam time" in Kiryas Joel and the surrounding areas, from all sides, and the directive of the founder of the town, the Divrei Yoel zy"a, to keep Rabbeinu Tam, and the halachic ruling that obligates all residents of Kiryas Joel and the surrounding areas.

Afterward the Rebbe shlit"a spoke about the holy yeshiva of the Baal Hilula. Today, on the yahrzeit of the uncle z"l, founder of the holy yeshiva, the occasion is fitting to increase in praise of the holy yeshiva, "the yeshiva which he established at his grave, near and visible to the marked resting place of the uncle z"l." Thank Hashem, hundreds of choice bochurim sit and learn in the yeshiva, engaged in Torah from the early morning hours until night, with tremendous diligence, and they grow in Torah, yiras Shamayim and good and upright character, in all three pillars of the world: Torah, avodah, which is the service of the heart, namely prayer, and gemilus chasadim. There are 6 branches of the yeshiva in Kiryas Joel, each one according to its level. "We say that we have a place of Torah for bochurim of all ages!! A bochur is not disqualified because of his years!! And we exert ourselves with great strength not to abandon any bochur until his wedding day!!!"

In this context the Rebbe shlit"a spoke out about the problem of sending bochurim to learn in Eretz Yisroel: "It is dreadful and awful, a terrible abandonment; every last bit of yiras Shamayim that the bochur possesses gets cooled off." He pointed out where this already begins, when young bochurim are sent away to foreign yeshivos.

Afterward the Rebbe shlit"a spoke about the responsibility of parents toward the chinuch of sons and the chinuch of daughters, and about the responsibility of parents that the bochurim keep the directive of the Rebbe zy"a not to go to weddings.

Afterward the Rebbe shlit"a concluded with very warm holy blessings in the great merit of the great Baal Hilula.
