Today at the central Sheva Brachos in our holy courts, the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a spoke with fiery holy words, words that are like a healing salve for the eyes, addressing the needs of the hour. He opened with praise and thanks to the Ribbono shel Olam, in material matters: that we are alive and well today, "we are all alive today," and that we have come out of the bitter epidemic.
And in spiritual matters: "After 3 difficult weeks in which the government set itself against all of Israel and put pressure on the administration of the mosdos to close the mosdos, with Hashem's kindness the mosdos were kept open," thanks to the "cooperation of all the mosdos." This sent the right message to the government, that all of Israel is a "stiff-necked people" and will not bend in any way, and it reached the high offices that "we are not going to change anything in the slightest." With Hashem's help, it will also thaw and be undone regarding the chinuch decree.
The Rebbe then spoke sharply against those who want to bring various new books to the students of secular studies: "We are not going to change. The booklets that were good 20 years ago, we will continue to learn." In this connection the Rebbe mentioned the holy instructions of his uncle, the founder of the kehilla, the holy Rebbe, the Divrei Yoel zt"l: "In secular studies, they should learn only such things that are not tasty and not appealing," "and we will be careful about this."
He concluded with his holy blessings that we should be able to educate the children in the way we received from our forefathers from generation to generation, and with strong holy blessings for his eldest son, his beloved and cherished son, our teacher HaGaon, the Av Beis Din shlit"a, on the occasion of the simcha, and for the mechutanim, the grandfathers, the chassan, and the entire community.
