Shabbos Kodesh, Parshas Va'eschanan, "Shabbos Nachamu" — "B'tzeil HaKodesh" with the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a at the vacation location in Bethlehem, New Hampshire.

This week, the outstanding bochurim of our yeshiva "Mesivta HaKedosha" – the "Kedushas Yoel" branch – merited to spend Shabbos Kodesh in the presence of the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a.

On Friday night at around 8:45, the Rebbe shlit"a entered the beis medrash and approached the amud for Mincha. Kabbalas Shabbos: HaGaon R' Dovid Shlomo Laub, maggid shiur in our kehilla in Monsey and a rebbi in the yeshiva. After davening, everyone went over to wish a gut Shabbos, and the guests greeted the Rebbe.

A short time after davening, at about 10:55, the Rebbe shlit"a entered for the Shabbos seudah together with the talmidim of the Mesivta and the many guests. Before Kiddush, the Rebbe shlit"a had a cup brought in and honored HaGaon HaTzaddik R' Kalman Halberstam shlit"a, Av Beis Din of Tzanz, Kiryas Joel, and head of the yeshiva, to make Kiddush. Lifting the cup for Kiddush: HaGaon HaTzaddik R' Kalman Halberstam shlit"a.

During the zemiros, the Rebbe shlit"a distributed the following honors: Kol Mekadesh: HaGaon R' Yoel Yitzchak Stern, a rebbi in the yeshiva; Menucha V'Simcha: HaGaon R' Mendel, son of HaGaon R' Moshe Friedman – Monsey.
The Rebbe shlit"a said Torah on the verse "Atah hachilosa lharos es avdecha," and explained it in the manner of a derush on the sugya of "mes u'meshalem." Kah Echsof: HaGaon R' Nosson Hersh Brisk, head of the Belz chabura – Lakewood. Bentching: HaGaon HaTzaddik Rabbi Kalman Halberstam shlit"a.
Stories and anecdotes: This week the Rebbe shlit"a spoke about the activities and askanus for the sake of Heaven of R' Shimshon Wertheimer z"l, whose yahrzeit fell on Shabbos. The Rebbe shlit"a also related stories of R' Shimshon with the holy R' Yonason Eibeschitz zy"a. Kah Ribon Olam: HaRav R' Chaim Yitzchak Shlomo Brach – Boro Park. The new chasanim went around taking fruit. The Rebbe also distributed fruit to the group of bochurim, talmidim of Yeshivas Belz – Lakewood. Az B'Yom HaShevii: HaRav R' Gavriel Yehuda Ilowitz – Boro Park. They finished at around 1:50.

On Shabbos morning, the Rebbe shlit"a entered at 9:45. Pesukei D'Zimra: HaGaon R' Yoel Yitzchak Stern. The Rebbe shlit"a approached the amud for Shacharis. Hotzaah and Hachnasah: R' Moshe Hersh Weider. Pesukei Shema Yisroel: HaGaon R' Mendel Friedman. Aliyos: Kohen: R' Levi Yitzchak Schonbrun; Levi: the bochur Boruch Yehuda Heller; Shlishi: HaGaon HaTzaddik Rabbi Kalman Halberstam shlit"a; Revii: R' Yoel Shlomo Yaakov; Chamishi: HaGaon R' Aharon Yekusiel Berkowitz, son of HaGaon HaTzaddik, Dayan and Moreh Tzedek shlit"a – Monsey; Shishi: the Rebbe shlit"a – the Rebbe's aliyah was purchased by Aharon Shaul Sandel. The Rebbe shlit"a thanked him and had a Mi Sheberach made for him. Shevii: the bar mitzvah bochur Dovid Wertheimer. At around 2:40, the Rebbe shlit"a entered for the zemiros at the afternoon seudah. Kugel and lechayim were brought in. During the zemiros, the Rebbe shlit"a distributed these honors: Baruch Hashem Yom Yom: HaRav R' Yoel Friedman – Monsey; Boruch Kel Elyon: HaRav R' Dovid Wertheimer. The Torah was on the verse from the haftara, "Nachamu nachamu ami yomar Elokeichem," and was explained in the manner of a derush on the sugya of "gorin u'mosifin udorshin." Bentching: HaGaon R' Aharon Yekusiel Berkowitz, son of HaGaon HaTzaddik, Dayan and Moreh Tzedek shlit"a. They finished at 3:30.
