๐ŸŒด Parshas Matos-Masei, "B'tzeil HaKodesh" with the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a at the vacation location in Bethlehem, New Hampshire - Part 1 ๐ŸŒด

=Sunday=

At around 8:50 the Rebbe entered for Shacharis at Beis Medrashenu Machzikei HaDas Kehal Yereim in Bethlehem.
Before davening, the Rebbe put tefillin on a bar mitzvah bochur, the bochur Yisroel Yaakov Brach.

After davening, the Rebbe affixed a mezuzah on the newly added davening room of Beis Medrashenu Machzikei HaDas, which was added onto the beis medrash to expand the boundaries of holiness through the faithful shamash, R' Fishel Farkash, for the benefit of the many chassidim, may they multiply, who come to spend time in the Rebbe's presence on the elevated Shabbosos. Afterwards a lechayim gathering took place at which the Rebbe wished the bar mitzvah bochur well, and a fine conversation developed about matters of Chassidus, and especially about immersion in the mikvah.

At night after Maariv, all the Shabbos guests came over to bid farewell.
On the way home, a fine conversation developed about the holy Rebbe, the Divrei Yoel zy"a, when he was on vacation in Bell Harbour, and about the recent tragedy in Florida.

=Monday=

At around 8:50 the Rebbe entered for Shacharis at Beis Medrashenu Machzikei HaDas Kehal Yereim in Bethlehem.

During the Torah reading, the Rebbe was called up as the third aliyah. The Rebbe's aliyah was purchased by R' Elchanan Shlomo Zalman Gross. After the aliyah, the Rebbe expressed his thanks.

"Vekovei Hashem yachalifu koach, ya'alu ever kanesharim" (Those who hope in Hashem shall renew their strength, they shall soar on wings like eagles). In the morning hours the Rebbe went for his usual walk in Neos Deshe, where lovely conversations were held in words of Torah and Chassidus, holy customs and stories of tzaddikim, and on current issues, a walk that was "like cold water to a weary soul," which is not forgotten by the participants.

At around 11:30 in the morning the Rebbe went for a walk, and among other things there was discussion about the weighty topics of the "cherem of Rabbeinu Gershom," the "cherem of Rabbeinu Tam," and the "ethical will of Rabbi Yehuda HaChassid."

After Maariv, on the way home, a fine conversation developed about the expansion of the boundaries of holiness in the holy city of Kiryas Joel.

=Tuesday=

At around 8:30 the Rebbe entered for Shacharis at Beis Medrashenu Machzikei HaDas Kehal Yereim in Bethlehem.
Before davening, the Rebbe put tefillin on a bar mitzvah bochur, the bochur Chaim Elazar Horowitz of Kiryas Joel.

After davening a lechayim gathering took place. The Rebbe wished the bar mitzvah bochur well, and a fine conversation developed. Among other things, the Rebbe related personal memories of the trip to the holy places in the year 5758 and of the Shabbos in Vizhnitz.

On the way home, there was discussion about the increased number of learners who took the exam on Monday at the first testing on Meseches Kesubos within the "Yesodei HaTorah" program of our holy kehilla around the world, and the Rebbe expressed his great nachas.

In the morning hours, at around 11:30, the Rebbe went for a walk in Neos Deshe, where lovely conversations were held in words of Torah and Chassidus, holy customs and stories of tzaddikim, and on current issues. The Rebbe related several incidents and stories about his ancestor, our master and teacher, the holy Gaon, the Yismach Moshe zy"a. Among other things, the Rebbe related that when the Yismach Moshe traveled to Sighet, they made a grand reception for him there, and the Yismach Moshe did not want to go out until they told him that it was not being made for him but for the "honor of the Torah." Then he calmed down. The Yismach Moshe said: How does one know whether one means oneself or the honor of the Torah? "One looks: when one honors another tzaddik and feels the same as when one is honored oneself, it is a sign that one means the honor of the Torah, since the other learns the same Torah as you. But if when another tzaddik is honored it pains you, it is a sign that one means oneself.."
In this connection the Rebbe mentioned the gathering that took place last week in Yerushalayim over the affront to the honor of the Torah of the Gaavad of Yerushalayim shlit"a, and said: How does one know whether they truly mean the honor of the Torah?.. One looks at whether, when another gadol is shamed, it pains them as well or not.. For seemingly it is the very same honor of the Torah, etc.

There was also discussion about the zealotry and love of fellow Jews of the holy Rebbe zy"a, and about the topics of handiwork in tzitzis, and personally making meat kosher, and related matters.
