🌴 Shabbos Kodesh, Parshas Shelach — "B'tzeil HaKodesh" with the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a 🌴

Friday afternoon at 9:00 the Rebbe entered the beis medrash and approached the amud for Mincha. Kabbalas Shabbos: R' Yoel, the bochur of R' Shimon Wertzberger.

After davening, the appeal for the mosdos "Toldos Aharon" took place.

After davening, the mispallelim went over to wish a gut Shabbos. A short time after davening, the Rebbe entered the Friday night seudah together with the talmidei hamesivta. Eishes Chayil: the grandson, the bochur Yechezkel Meizlish, son of HaGaon Rabbi Shimon Zev. Kol Mekadesh: R' Shlomo Brown of Boro Park. Menucha V'simcha: R' Yisroel Yaakov of Yerushalayim. The Rebbe said a Torah thought on the verse "Shelach lecha — according to your own judgment," and explained, in the manner of drush, the sugya of chatzi shiur. Kah Echsof: Rabbi Mordechai Dov Meizlish, grandson of the HaGaon, Av Beis Din of our kehilla in Montreal. Bentching: HaGaon R' Chaim Yuda, the Av Beis Din and Rosh Yeshiva of Toras Chesed. Stories and anecdotes: This week the Rebbe related a story about the holy R' Shlomo'le of Bobov, whose yahrzeit falls on Rosh Chodesh Tammuz. Kah Ribon Olam: HaGaon R' Yosef Leib Kahn. During the fruit course the chassanim passed through. A shalom zachor took place at the home of the son of R' Simcha Yisroel Appel, where "Bayom Hashvi'i" was sung by R' Mendel Eckstein. The seudah concluded at 1:50.

On Shabbos morning the Rebbe entered at 9:35. Pesukei D'zimra: R' Mendel Wertheimer of Williamsburg. The Rebbe approached the amud for Shacharis. Hotza'ah and Hachnasah: R' Leibush Spitzer of Williamsburg. Pesukei Shema Yisroel: R' Meir Simon. Aliyos: Kohen: the chassan, the bochur Mordechai Yitzchak Katz. Levi: R' Aharon Wertzberger — the Rebbe made a Mi Sheberach and gave a name in honor of his newborn daughter, l'mazel tov. Shlishi: the chassan, the bochur Moshe, son of R' Meir Simon. Revi'i: R' Shmuel Stein. Chamishi: the chassan, the bochur Yoel Greenwald. Shishi: the Rebbe shlit"a. Shevi'i: the chassan, son of R' Yoel Wieder. Hosafah: the chassan, the bochur Menachem Teitelbaum. Acharon: HaGaon R' Chaim Yuda, Av Beis Din of Toras Chesed. Maftir: R' Shmuel Friedman of Boro Park. Hagbah: R' Yisroel Forgacs. The Rebbe blessed Rosh Chodesh with fiery enthusiasm.

On Shabbos afternoon at 7:40 the Rebbe entered for the Pirkei Avos shiur and stood at the Mishnah in Perek 3, Mishnah 2, "Two who sit and have words of Torah between them," and explained it in 12 ways in the manner of drush, aggadah and mussar. The topics included eating for the sake of Heaven; that in order to serve Hashem one must first have his physical needs; that humility is learned from Hakadosh Baruch Hu; that through humility one merits to remember the Torah; fulfilling the service of Hashem with fervor; that teshuvah done publicly is considered teshuvah out of love; that through Torah and gemilus chasadim one transforms the attributes of judgment into mercy; that Torah lengthens a person's life; that one should be engaged in it and in ahavas Yisroel, especially now in the month of Tammuz. At the end the Rebbe gave words of guidance for the summer days, as people go away. It concluded at 8:40.

The Rebbe entered for Mincha and Shalosh Seudos at 8:55. Mincha: R' Yoel, the bochur of R' Akiva Hirsch. Hotza'ah and Hachnasah: R' Moshe Yosef Ashkenazi of Monsey. Kohen: R' Avrohom Yuda Weinfeld of Australia. Levi: R' Shlomo Wertzberger, the meshamesh. Shlishi: R' Aharon Hersh Mittelman of Boro Park. Hagbah: the Rebbe shlit"a. Gelilah: R' Dovid Wertheimer. At Shalosh Seudos the Rebbe honored HaGaon R' Yosef Chaim Greenwald with Odeh, and R' Moshe Goldstein with Shir HaMaalos. At the Torah, the Rebbe stood on the verse "And it shall be, when you eat of the bread of the land, you shall set apart a portion for Hashem," and explained in the manner of mussar that through engaging in Torah, the destructive angels created by aveiros are removed. Yedid Nefesh: R' Shaul Friedman. Kel Mistater: R' Mendel Wertheimer. The Rebbe made a blessing over the cup and recited Sheva Brachos. Maariv of Motzei Shabbos: R' Lipa Epstein of Montreal. After Havdalah the mispallelim went over to wish a gutte voch. As the Rebbe left, he was escorted with the niggun Ki Malachav, in honor of the Rebbe's "holy journey to the holy resting place of Meron." It concluded at 11:10.
