A frightening, well-known incident involving HaGaon Rabbi Akiva Eiger zy"a: There were parents who brought him their child, who unfortunately did not understand his learning. The gaon asked whether he was careful about the kashrus of the foods he gave the child. The man, a God-fearing Jew, was very particular about hechsherim! The gaon then instructed them to find out what the child had been eating outside the home. After investigating, they discovered that the child, once, while walking home with his friend after learning with the melamed, had gone into a wedding that was held "without permission," and he ate meat there (the shochet was a God-fearing man, but it was not known where the meat was going). And the holy Rabbi Akiva Eiger zy"a sensed that this had clogged the child's mind!
