🌴 Thursday evening, Parshas Bamidbar — "B'tzeil HaKodesh" with the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a 🌴

At around 10:20 the Rebbe arrived in Monsey at the dinner for the benefit of our holy mosdos, which, unfortunately, have over "1500" children. The program was opened by HaGaon Rabbi, Av Beis Din and Rosh Yeshiva of our Monsey kehilla shlit"a, with the address of the evening. Then the distinguished philanthropist R' Refael Perlmutter of Monsey, who raised a fantastic sum of $180,000 for the mosdos, was honored with the "Nezer Oseh Chesed" award, and he then spoke a few words. Afterwards the Rebbe delivered the central words of holy address — see the separate report from the Divrei Shalom — and the Rebbe of our kehilla in 15 shlit"a also participated in the event, as did the Monsey Rav shlit"a, with whom pleasant conversation took place.

After the event the Rebbe davened Maariv. Before davening he lit 5 candles and davened before the amud in honor of the hilula of his ancestor, the Valova Rav zt"l. It ended at 11:50.

After the dinner, the Rebbe paid a visit to HaGaon R' Chaim Feivel Schnebalg shlit"a, formerly Av Beis Din of Abrich, on the occasion of his appointment as Av Beis Din of Manchester. A lengthy conversation of over half an hour took place. First the Manchester Rav invited the Rebbe to come visit Manchester. Among other topics, they spoke about the beauty of the city of Kiryas Joel, tznius, rising early and the like. The Rebbe noted that the gathering yesterday in the Beis Medrash HaGadol in Kiryas Joel ended already at 10:00! Then the conversation continued about the terrible tragedy in Meron, and the Rebbe retold the story of the Sanzer Rav that the Rebbe had told at the gathering, as well as several more stories about the Sanzer Rav. The Rebbe then offered warm holy blessings on the appointment to the Rav of Manchester.

From there the Rebbe went to the home of HaRav R' Hillel Rabinowitz shlit"a, director of our yeshiva "Misivta HaKedosha" Beirach Moshe branch, on the occasion of the engagement of his daughter to the chasan, son of HaRav R' Pinchas Tzvi Elimelech Katz shlit"a, dayan in Williamsburg. A pleasant conversation took place with the mechutanim, and the Rebbe then offered holy blessings to the chasan and the mechutanim.

At around 1:20 the Rebbe arrived in Kiryas Joel, where he drove to the home of the philanthropist R' Kalman Yoel Sofer on Carlsburg Street. The Rebbe looked over the expansion of the holy boundaries at Beis Medrash Rav Tuv and the lots for the yeshiva ketana. Then the Rebbe went into his home and wrote in the letters in the Sefer Torah being written by R' Kalman Yoel, which will be brought to Beis Medrash Rav Tuv this coming Isru Chag. A lechayim celebration was held and documents were signed for the merits of the expansion of the holy boundaries at Beis Medrash Rav Tuv. The Rav of the beis medrash, HaRav R' Chaim Hersh Ashkenazi, the Rebbe's grandson, also participated.
