For the Tens of Thousands — Pillars of Fire

"Come and gather for the hilula of Bar Yochai"

With holy excitement and elevation of spirit, many tens of thousands of loyal Jews are preparing, who are traveling from all over Greater New York and Canada, as every year, to the splendid gathering of the Hadlaka Rabbasi tonight, the night of Lag B'Omer, in honor of the Tanna, the Godly Rabbi Shimon bar Yochai. It is without doubt the largest Hadlaka gathering in the entire world. The holy gathering will take place under the open sky on the huge expanse of land between the Beis Medrash HaGadol and the Mivtzar HaKollelim. The area will be prepared to accommodate the entire public of participants. There will be special areas for women along Garfield Road, from the Hess curb up to the commuter parking lot. Thousands of standing places will be set up on the high tiered bleachers, along with the special "Rachbas HaRikudim" (dance area), where the public, by the thousands, will break out in fervent dancing while the leader of the congregation, the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a, lights the bonfire in honor of the Godly Tanna, and continues for a long time while the bonfire blazes and the flame rises on its own. Fortunate is the eye that saw the Kohen Gadol in his holy service!!

After Maariv the Rebbe will appear, as inspiring melodies are sung, and afterwards the fiery voice of the Satmar Rebbe shlit"a will be heard, with words of inspiration and preparation regarding the great holiness of the day. Afterwards the Rebbe will light the bonfire with holy fire and begin the fiery holy dancing. During the dancing the Rebbe will give haircuts to dozens of three-year-old boys.
